Ram ram

Um, or if you have a silverado

But not a gr not a toyota or if you have a gr

Wow, dude

chill

please that's

by the way

Let's turn that sucker down I need your

Oh

It feels like it's been forever

No, no one what it feels like it's been forever

No, it's because we did it in the morning last time. Oh true. Yeah, I feel it that that was extra that's that earlier hours

Yes

Why didn't we do it in the morning? I don't know. I feel like we were slower in the morning

There was a reason for sure

Well, it was rushed because you were gonna go see hail mary for sure for the second because it's something that you were gonna do

Oh, I think you had my fault

uh

Oh, no, no, no is because it's working steven

That's what it was. No, it was probably a combination of things

I forget though. I didn't think I had work at saturday

No, we don't remember anyways. Welcome

To the podcast

Yeah, yeah, let's just say it's my fault. It's my fault. Okay, sure

uh

Greetings and salutations. Maybe I had something planned actually. No, I think about it. Yeah, who knows anyways, it's all of our faults equally

Uh, we mostly never mind. Uh, I was gonna say some heresy. This is episode 15

And uh

We're coming in hot like we always do coming in hot coming in hot, uh now

You know, we didn't do I always say his name wrong

Uh, because of the song we're actually starting early. Are we yeah, we're seven minutes early

We were supposed to uh pray before we started streaming. Oh shoot my bad

Next time uh

Um, shall we pray now here we are. Well, we're gonna pray anyways in the episode. So that's fair. It'll cover that base

um this week, um

How's your week? It's been pretty good, man. It's uh

It's been a chaotic one. Yeah, that's for sure chaotic. Yeah, uh, you know how last time I said i'll have time now

uh to to maybe work on 3d printing and stuff the 3d printer decided to

completely

Bug out screw up. Yeah, like it

Was working perfectly fine

All week, maybe two weeks in a row and then just all of a sudden it was like

No, i'm gonna i'm gonna screw you over now. Nice. I was printing a uh,

uh

What would you call it anatomically correct

Skull skull. Okay human skull sure for this show. Uh, um, and it was doing just fine

And then all of a sudden I come back

from pickleball

With our new friends and

It's printing in the midair

Above

What it's already printed. Oh, i'm like, yep. Nope. That's no

That's not how you print. That's cool. I thought you knew how to 3d print you showed me

For two weeks straight that you knew how to 3d print. Mm-hmm

It no longer knows how it made that and made that little trash can that's crazy. Yeah, but

No matter what I do now

I'm trying to like recalibrate it get it to print properly. No matter what I do now, it will not work

And I have no idea why I just decided one day to not work anymore. That's awesome

Yeah, so I was less stressed because I had more time on my hands to do whatever I wanted. No

Stress because the printer's not working

This is my life. I just can't catch a break

I feel like i'm looking for things to stress out about and shut your mouth steven. Don't you say it?

freaking thing

Steven, so what I did say was true

Shut your mouth. That's great

um

Great. Yeah, and then you played pickleball pickleball and then

Group. Yep, and we stayed up until 1 a.m. Yep with everyone. Uh, and then

You played pickleball again?

Yeah, it was a crazy week now we're here a lot of pickleball yeah and

Steven's played pickleball more than he's ever played pickleball in his entire life this week. Wow, right? Yeah. Well

More frequently than I've played. Yeah

because

last time we were actually doing pickleball with people there was like

a few times and there's

Almost a year in between we did another spur of it. Yeah, and then now we're doing it again

even

More time in between so I I feel like pickleball has been like that

uh social lubricant

uh that

is the precursor to

A epic saga

of socialization

Interesting. Does that make any sense? I don't know you don't i've i've not um, you have not known partaken of the pickleball enough

Well, you did this time once. Yeah twice, right?

It's also a precursor i'm pretty sure it's like twice well this last week but overall overall i've

played pickleball

I don't know five times. Wow, maybe second bites. I only remember two. It was uh, it was back in the day

Did you just pick up the paddle? No. Oh, okay. Um, no when I was dating

Somebody it's hard to believe the very first thing that we did

The very first date I took her on yeah, that was rude

The very first day that I took her on was pickleball, yeah, and then we ended up playing pickleball after that with other people nice and

That was the end of that is that why you don't like it for such a long time no, oh, okay

I just didn't care for it still don't yeah, it's like our uh, like our friendship. Sure

Yeah

The non-existent one, yeah, yeah because we hate each other

And that's why we made this podcast. Oh, yeah, because we hate each other. Well, we hate ourselves, too

Yeah, but we don't hate steven steven steven. We love yeah

He deserves our love. Yeah, he deserves all the love. Mm-hmm. I'm confused every form of the love. No, no

No, I said the love

But there's a lot of forms of love the love that we have for him. Oh, so the the the

Not a lot love

Because no one's loved us and we don't know. Well, that's not so we don't know jesus loved us

This joke is falling apart. Yes

Oh, no, we just said

We're losing

Anyways

Steven how is your week then? Uh

Uh

Seems like i'm always moving. So

Okay

Um, you're living out of state. No, uh, just out of the room doing stuff out of work

Work, I got called in monday. Yeah, uh had work on tuesday. Mm-hmm

um

We

Hung out

Wednesday, uh

Think so

I don't know

So yeah, that was when you've been out and about that's yeah, that was the first time we played pickleball this week and then

Thursday night and that's when we stayed up

until

One two in the morning we did. Oh, yeah, we did. Yeah, we did. Yeah, we did

That was a good time. It was great time. Then I worked the next day. I didn't go to bed till 7 a.m

Actually, no, that's not true. That was the previous day. Yeah, I was about to say. Yeah. Nice. Yeah, am I taking care of myself yet?

This is about steven, sorry, i'm very selfish i'm self-centered if you can't tell

Um, i'm an egomaniac as my mom says. Um, is that actually a thing that you know, she's it's not

That you know, I should just never ask that question

Just to leave it up in the air forever or just maybe ignore it and then i'll stop thinking it's a good bit

But why would you lie to yourself?

No, i'm confused. All right, that's a good bit

It is good bit

Just a little bit. Maybe it needs to be a gigabit. Anyways, steve

back to you

um

so then

Uh that thursday night

Stayed over at his house. Yeah, you did daniels

um friday

Hung out and then we went and played pick a wall and then

Basically didn't get home till 12 30. Mm. No, it's more like

11 11 30. Well, we went out to eat. Yeah, and I got home at like 12 30. Yeah

So you must have been home earlier than that

Yeah, okay

Um, and then I had work today at 9 a.m

so

Nice double shift, right?

Just a full shift. Oh, okay eight hours. So I figured a full shift was like half that at pet smart

I'm gonna have to put that up

You will I will I feel like we've talked about that before though. Yeah, I think so

And they're not gonna know what pet smart

Are you sure? Yeah

What if I tell them that's the one off of?

How are they not gonna know oh they definitely won't know

right

Uh, yeah, then they'll know no, no, no. No, I mean, you know, look if you're female and you're interested

Uh steven's address i'm just kidding steven's phone number it is his social security number social security number, um

Bank account routing details his socials are I already gave that fair. Yeah

um

What you already gave yeah ready to give them the social just know

Oh, just know that is true. He won't see it coming

Nice thank you. Thank you. Steven. Was that uh, was that all you had? Yeah, pretty much

awesome

So, uh me kyle, how was your week? Um, my week was great. Cool. Cool. Cool. I

Uh

Worked played some satisfactory worked

played some

riveting, uh

Hung out with the peeps. Yeah hung out with the other peeps abandoned us yesterday. Yep. Um, yes, uh, and

Oh, I met with my um

Shepherding elder what's that for everybody? Uh for those of you that don't know, uh, your church should be putting you under

One of the elders of should be of the elder board. Um, so that's is that a biblical thing they can

Oversee you because the overseer the the the head overseer

uh cannot keep track of

A lot of people. Mm-hmm. And so being the pastor the pastor. Um, so

They put you under the elders so they can keep track of your life and pray for you

I don't know if that's should it's modeling after moses, right? Um

I'm, pretty sure it just should

because pastoring has to do with

Leading leading and keeping tabs on

Everything that's going on the lives of the people. It's wise but being

I don't know. It's it's looking after them. Well, how do you look after your flock? Why are they called shepherds?

you have to

you have to meet needs and you have to

Do all that different stuff. Yeah, um, and they also I mean because obviously

they're not just there to

Speak from the pulpit so

Uh, anyways, hopefully we talked about that

well, eventually, um

I'm, not sure. I agree another point

What with with the the assertion that

Churches should be ran that way. Um, we can talk about it later. We can't talk about it

I mean at the very least they how was your time with your shepherding elder? It was fantastic

It's very life-giving to

Experience that and

Uh, I needed that

And on top of that something

Fantastic happened. Oh, yeah

um

before I

Before I got there

Uh something something has returned to my heart which is um joy

no

That's been there. Uh, sure which is my

desire

To get married. Oh

What?

um

The week previous it was my desire to have

To be a father. Oh

and this week it was

Uh to get married interesting. Yeah

Can I ask where did that come from?

uh the holy spirit

So then it just randomly came or was there events that brought it? I mean

I wouldn't say randomly. Okay, um, but the spirit can lead you and set you up in certain situations to

yeah

um, it was

I don't know, especially with last week. It's definitely been

a

There's a lot of humbling that had to come with that and a lot of uh, re

Remembering

Why i'm here because i've been spending

months

After I pushed down those desires. Yeah, it's been a long time. I've been spending months just

Focusing on projects, but then I decided to focus on work

and

Just taking things easy and i've been gaming again, uh, just to

chill, um

And that was weird because generally I am focusing on whatever other things.

And it's just been podcasts and work and spending time with friends whenever I can and whatever.

And family.

Yeah, and family. So I think that created just an opportunity, a great opportunity for my heart to

be softened. Because I mean, you know, just with scripture, reading scripture, hearing the word

preached and everything, there's been a lot of things that have convicted me, which doesn't

really stop. And it's just, yeah, softened my heart towards a lot of things.

Wow, that's good news.

Yeah. And it's funny because it happened the day after we had that conversation.

That's hilarious.

In and out. And I said, oh, yeah, I'm not interested in dating right now.

Yeah.

And now here I am. And I'm like, hmm.

So next time that happens to you, if ever, all I got to get you to do is say the opposite.

Or say exactly what you told me.

Oh.

Force you to say it.

Sure.

And then you'll be like, actually.

Or maybe I just have to say it in front of women and I'm like, oh, maybe I shouldn't.

Yeah. Maybe.

Maybe it'd be more effective. Never mind.

Anyways.

More effective if you have to have the social consequences of saying it.

Yeah.

In front of everybody.

Yeah.

But yeah, and then I hung out with friends last night, which is great.

Played some Catan.

Did you get that shirt last night?

I got this shirt from a coworker three weeks ago.

Oh.

Because I work on Fridays. If we work Fridays, it's Hawaiian shirt day.

That's awesome.

And he got me this shirt and he said, this is you.

And he's like.

That's honestly surprising, though.

It is very surprising.

Yeah.

I would not buy this shirt other than someone else giving it to me.

And.

But that is you, actually.

I honestly, I think it is.

Yeah.

And I think this might be a gateway drug, so we'll see.

For real.

I might have to start wearing Hawaiian shirts, too.

Dude, just wear Hawaiian shirts on the on the episode.

Yeah.

Oh, yeah.

It'd be awesome.

A new one.

Yeah.

If we had the budget for that, send us an obscene amount of money just to buy Hawaiian shirts.

Patreon.

Patreon.

Hook us up.

Yeah.

Actually, though, we.

Help us hook up our Patreon.

We wouldn't need an obscene amount of money to do that.

We just need enough to go to Goodwill.

Every week.

Every week.

For a year.

At least.

At least.

Until recent memory dies.

Yeah.

Yeah.

We're going to kill your memories.

We're going to, in your sleep, show up.

And extract the memory.

Oh, do a little Inception.

No, like a slice their head open.

Oh, OK.

Kind of thing.

Yeah.

That's why I was printing the skull.

That's less.

That's less legal.

Practice.

Less.

Yeah, less legal than just doing Inception.

Less legal, but it's more reversible.

I would say.

Cutting part of their head off.

Well, I mean, you put it back.

Are you thinking of leaving their skull open?

No, I'm thinking that you're doing permanent damage to their brain.

Especially because you're not trained.

Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Huge assumption.

Just because the way I look does not mean I am not an MD.

What about your appearance says that you can't?

Cut open a brain.

Everything.

Anyways, let's move on.

Rude.

You're welcome.

Side note.

I am not an MD, but still rude.

Also, you're the one who's not rude to a patient.

Actually, it's life giving to a patient.

Well, oh, you're not an MD.

You shouldn't be speaking to my practice like that.

That's slander.

You have a practice.

I'm pretty sure that's illegal.

Not that you know of.

Let's dox you right now.

You're the one who brought this up with like, well, I guess I started it.

Litten recent memory.

That's just a phrase, though.

Letting recent memory die.

Then you said, okay, we're going to steal your memories and BS, blah, blah, blah.

You're a phrase.

What?

You're a phrase.

I'm a phrase?

You're a phrase.

Get rekt.

Well, at least I'll live longer than most people.

Some phrases live for a long time.

That's a good comeback.

Yeah.

Thank you, man.

I like that.

We should start the episode now.

Nah, let's start the episode.

Before we start perfume, I hear.

That's a ringing.

But besides that, I hear that there's a old friend of ours that wants to come back and

make an introduction.

Oh, interesting.

Yeah.

Who is that friend?

Hugh, indeed.

Hugh.

Hugh, indeed.

Indeed.

Well, you said, who is that person?

I said, Hugh, indeed.

Hugh is that person.

Humanity is that person.

Just press the play button.

I can't.

Play button.

Humanity here.

Last episode, these beloved hazards opened by asking if they were ready, like three youth

pastors trying to diffuse a microwave with prayer and male confidence.

Then they took Genesis chapter four and drove it straight into a theological flea market.

Daniel started doing his usual thing where he ties Seth, Abel, mortality, legal documents

and the collapse of civilization together, like he is being haunted by both Leviticus

and expired concession stand meat.

McHale tried to hold it all together like a substitute teacher with a caffeine problem

and a laminated flow chart.

While Stephen just floated there like a baptized park ranger from a fish tank forum,

somehow sounding the most sane.

Today they head into Genesis chapter five, which means genealogy, first sons, ancient

timeline chaos, and the kind of name list that normal people fear.

And Daniel treats like buried treasure.

So naturally, these precious clowns are about to turn a family record into a full spiritual

crime scene.

Let's hand it over to Daniel McHale and Stephen.

Yeah, wow.

McHale.

What a, uh, I'm gonna ignore that.

What, uh, well, yeah, he mispronounced it.

What an interesting comeback.

McHale.

McHale, right.

Um, it's been, it's been several weeks.

It's been months, hasn't it?

Yeah, I think so.

We've had Hugh back.

It's been a long time.

He didn't sound very bitter this time.

He didn't sound very bitter.

You think that's why he, like, dipped on us?

I think, I think he had a heart change.

And he needed to sometime apart from the, from the podcast.

Yeah, and definitely wasn't forced on him.

Yeah, he had a choice in the matter.

Yeah, um, a little Easter egg for the episode that's coming out this week, next week.

Uh, that's funny.

Uh, laugh.

Great.

Yeah, I think you did a great job.

I did.

I think he did a great job.

I mean, you did a great job because you made him, uh, he's your son.

Um, you're his father.

Uh, I'm not very comfortable with that.

And you should be.

Uh, cause you created him.

Hugh, I am not proud of you.

Um, I wish you, you don't have a mother.

How does that make you feel?

Let us know in the fall, in the, in the next episode.

That's crazy.

That's true.

Yeah.

He's going to listen to this.

Yeah.

Uh, sorry, Hugh.

Um, what I meant to say is I wish I had a daughter.

Oh, yeah.

What would her name be?

Uh, Hugh.

With an E at the end.

I'm very uncreative if you haven't noticed.

Uh, that's crazy.

Uh, now that we've had a recap, we probably should have done that earlier.

Probably.

Yeah.

But then you just dove right into the weeks.

Yeah, that's true.

But now that he's back.

Yeah.

We can, we can redo.

The Hugh.

Redo the Hugh.

Do the humanity.

Every time I hear someone stepping out of the bed for a second.

Sure.

Every time I hear someone mentioned humanity.

Yeah.

Like the actual word.

I think of you.

Yeah.

It's like, oh, you think of that?

You know about him too?

Oh, absolutely.

All the time.

It's the only thing I think about now.

Someone says human.

I'm like humanity.

Humanity though.

Humanity here.

Uh, I, and I want to say that I want to go up to them.

Humanity here.

Uh, crazy.

Oh, with the unfocused eyes.

You're not like looking at them.

Oh yeah.

Humanity.

Just look at their eyebrows.

Yeah.

Uh, we should start the perfume section.

Yeah, man.

Before we do that.

Does someone want to pray for us?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Dang it.

I was just agreeing that someone should pray for us.

Yeah.

Yeah.

It should be a tag.

You're it.

You're it.

I'm joking.

I'll pray.

Oh, even though Steven is the chief prayer officer.

Chief prayer officer.

Yeah, dude.

Isn't that what his title is in the constitution?

The CPO.

Yeah.

The CPO, but he's allergic to talking.

So I'll pray.

I feel attacked.

Maybe.

I think this podcast is dedicated to attacks.

All right.

All right.

Uh, dear God, thank you for today.

Thank you for this podcast.

Thank you for, uh, uh, whoever is willing to listen beyond our chaos and, uh, horrible

jokes and, uh, just sheer stupidity.

And actually here, if there's any, any goodness, uh, that you're gonna guide us to in this

episode, God, would you, um, would you speak through us?

Would you use us to, um, to show people that your word is fascinating?

Um, that it's, uh, it's something that can be consumed without, uh, without a degree,

without, uh, any prior experience.

And it's, it doesn't have to be boring.

And God, would you, uh, help us to say what is right and, um, keep our mouth shut, uh,

if it's something wrong, uh, that we shouldn't be saying God.

And if we do say that God, uh, please identify that later so I can cut it.

Um, but also if, if I miss that, would you close the ears of the audience, uh, to that

thing?

Uh, so they don't hear it.

God, um, please, uh, keep us humble here and, um, also entertaining and, uh, keep us

in check and whatever, whatever else I'm missing prayer wise.

God, uh, I know that, uh, your spirit, uh, you, you pray for us.

Um, in ways that we can't even imagine.

So thank you for that.

Thank you for your son.

Thank you for this, uh, this group of friends and, uh, this passage that we're going to

go through.

Amen.

We are in Genesis five.

We have entered into the five zone, which means that we are going to be in a more, a

drier section, a drier section, um, because most of the content is names and years, number

of years.

Um, but we are going to be talking about it because we want to deal with all of scripture

as best as we can.

So this is going to be more of a series pre cursor, if you will.

Sure.

Yeah.

Um, because we're going to be talking about what we're going, what we want to talk about

in the following episode.

So we're sort of like, uh, farmers going through the field, uh, gathering the harvest.

Yeah.

All right.

Um, just picking little topics here and there.

But before we, before we go

and do that, if you guys want to take notes while I am reading, because I've technically

already taken notes.

Um,

Oh, you've taken notes already?

On, yeah, cause I had to set up for the following episodes.

Oh.

The goal here, I'll say this.

The goal of these, uh, sorry, of this episode, uh, one is to map out the genealogy ourselves.

Cool.

Uh, meaning the years when people were born, all that different stuff.

That's why I have a whiteboard behind me.

And then we're going to talk about what things we want to do.

I have the episodes technically laid out, um, already, and there's, I think six of them

or so five.

There's five, five episodes for this chapter for this chapter.

That's suiting, um, this chapter five.

It is.

That's true.

With this episode, it would be six though.

So, oh, um, darn.

Um, so I will read.

If you guys want to take the noteage, take a calendar, do this.

Um, I don't have a pen.

You do not have a pen, uh, or a pencil.

I'm not going to use a laptop.

Uh, I'm old school, dude.

Hmm.

Ah, I'm doing this because there was so much pencil.

Jimmy followed me all the way.

Yeah.

Jimmy.

Heck yeah.

Jimmy is my one true love.

She's beautiful.

Whoa.

She yeah.

Jimmy is not a girl's thing.

You do not.

We said at the beginning of the podcast, Stephanie is a dude.

Jimmy is a guy.

Yeah.

But what if Jimmy is a guy?

What if Jimmy is a girl?

What if, what if our audience just tuned them and they didn't listen to last season?

We need to remind them.

Um, my camera is me and Stephen's camera rather is named Stephanie and he's great.

Your camera, Michael's camera.

Sorry.

I always mispronounce your name.

Mikhail's camera is named Jimmy and she's awesome too.

Sure.

There we go.

Okay.

And our other, we should, at the beginning of the season, we should be like, we are your

hosts and these are our mini hosts.

And then there's the cannon over there and

The cannon that's her. There we go. You just got to point at the camera and then it turns really

Yeah, what's cool? It takes a second, but we're okay. Yeah, nice

Anyways, I'm gonna read we'll take notes cool. Okay Genesis chapter 5

This is the book of the generations of Adam

When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God male and female

He created them and he blessed them and named them man

When they were created when Adam had lived a hundred and thirty years

He fathered a son in his own likeness after his image and named him Seth

the days of Adam after he fathered Seth were

800 years and he had other sons and daughters

Thus all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years and he died

When Seth had lived a hundred and five years, he fathered Enos

Seth lived after he fathered Enos

807 years and had other sons and daughters

Thus all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years and he died when Enos had lived in ninety years. He fathered

Kenan

Enos lived after he fathered Kenan

815 years and had other sons and daughters

Thus all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years and he died when Kenan had lived seventy years

He fathered Mahalo

Kenan lived after he fathered Mahalo

840 years and had other sons and daughters

Thus all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years and he died

When Mahalo had lived sixty-five years he fathered Jared

Mahalo lived after he fathered Jared

830 years and had other sons and daughters

Thus all the days of Mahalo were eight hundred and ninety-five years and he died

When Jared had lived a hundred and sixty-two years

he fathered Enoch after or Jared lived after he fathered Enoch 800 years and

Had other sons and daughters thus all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years and he died when Enoch had lived

65 years he fathered Methuselah

each Enoch

Walked with God after he fathered

Methuselah

300 years and had other sons and daughters thus all the days of Enoch were

365 years

Enoch walked with God and he was not for God took him when Methuselah had lived

187 years he fathered Lamech

Methuselah lived after he fathered Lamech

782 years and had other sons and daughters thus all the days of Methuselah were

969 years and he died when Lamech had lived

182 years he fathered a son and called his name Noah

Saying out of the ground that the Lord has cursed

This one shall bring us relief from our work and from the pain painful toil of our hands

Lamech lived after he fathered Noah

595 years and had other sons and daughters thus all the days of Lamech were

777 years and he died after Noah

Was 500 years old Noah fathered Shem Ham and Japheth

Um

Dang, yeah, it's a lot. So

Before we

Dive in really dive into it. Do you guys have any initial thoughts? Oh boy, do I?

First off your numbers are

Way off

my Bible says

And then once it talks about Enoch being taken by God then the numbers start to align

Hmm, so it might be just the way that it's translated. I

Did notice that it like it was sort of in a different order

So the interesting to break that down like why is it?

Translated that way. What version do you have as ESP and ESP and then the NK GV?

New Kenji new King James version is translated this way

Hmm

Be interesting to dive into that. I'll pass it off before I take everything. Okay, Steven Steven. No, I

Just kind of kept trying to catch back up. Mmm, but I

Was just listening. So was there anything that stood out to you when you're listening? No, nothing weird. Nothing nuts. Nothing crazy

Nobody simple the fact that they live so so freaking long

I was pretty nuts. Yeah, kind of crazy. Yeah, Michael. I'm thinking about the

The next chapter and

What are they called the flood no the the sons of God were they called the Nephilim Oh Nephilim and

Wait, did they live hundreds of years too? I would think so. Yeah, that's crazy

Mm-hmm. Anyways, my first thoughts

This is for sons

Because it it says

Who the father is the father had this son and then it says he had other sons and daughters

Mm-hmm. I mean that can be an assumption because it says

It all it says is and he had other sons and daughters, but it has that and if it didn't have the and

If it said he also had

Then that could be taken as oh there could be other

Children in and around whatever

I bet you if you look at the original language, there might be some clues to that. Yeah, also the original culture

Yeah, the original culture usually points to the eldest son first

Yeah

So maybe we should investigate the language of these sections

Yeah, we definitely need to and then after Enos way isn't enough after Enoch

Which actually I think that's another translation thing

Some books call it some translations call it Enoch and others call it Enoch. I think I remember Enoch was

The son of Seth and then Enoch is the son of Jared. Okay. All right. I see. Okay. I was wrong there

Hold on am I writing? Okay. Um, so another thing that I saw like immediately was the precursor

Chapter 5 verses 1 through 5. Mm-hmm

I mean, it's just like a little introduction, but usually there's a whole bunch of stuff that we miss in the introduction. Mm-hmm

it's almost like

Someone gives you a map and a way to interpret it. Mm-hmm

What's that thing called? It's like a key. Yeah

I thought there was a bigger name for it, but

It's like trying to read a map without the key without the legend without the whatever it is, right?

Mm-hmm that first five for those first five verses could be the key to the rest of this

I'm just saying that could be but the

couple things that immediately stood out to me was

that God made

All of these people in the likeness of himself. Mm-hmm

then

Distinctly calling out that he created them as male and female so to two types. Yeah

and

Then saying that he he called the mankind so we didn't name ourselves. We didn't name ourselves mankind or humanity. Mm-hmm

humanity, yeah

Nothing, okay

I don't get it

Let's see, what else you have something oh and then it just dives right in I guess I was wrong

Precursor is just the first two verses then it talks about Adam. This is the book. Yeah, that's oh, yeah, that's a good clue

What does that mean? It's weird. Why would this chapter is specifically a book? This is a chapter dude. What do you mean a book?

Yeah, this is the book of the generations of Adam your says generations mine says genealogy. Yeah

Interesting. Yeah, that's a good point the book

Okay, what else so I guess

Technically in the order that I wrote the notes for this episode

Hmm, we're gonna do the genealogy thing first, but let's just let's just talk about let's let's continue doing what we're talking about parsing it

and then

And then we'll try and see if we can split things up. Yeah

For the episode cool. Cool. Yeah, like choose a few. Yeah, I like it Steven. You got anything yet?

Take your time. If not, nope. I was gonna type out names and ages

Yeah, yeah, that's what I started doing I was written down the ages

That's kind of what we should do next I would think right you've got a whiteboard back there, right

Me Kyle, right, but we're gonna do that when we do the genealogy

So right now we're talking about everything we're talking about the content of the passage. Okay, so we're gonna do that fresher. Sure. Sure. Sure

I probably miss a whole bunch of stuff, but it seems like Adam Seth

Enosh Kanan

Mahalo

Jared Enoch all

Well, not Enoch but up to Jared are all kind of like

Same old same old hmm

and then

Like same pattern. Mm-hmm. Just different names different years and then Enoch is different. Yeah

Methuselah is different. I

Think no, it's not

Lamech is difference

so first Enoch is

Walking with God. Mm-hmm. And then he was not because God took him. Mm-hmm. What does that mean?

Does yours say something different? Yeah, so why do we assume that that means he went up to heaven?

Or he like went up in a fiery chariot chariot, oh, no, I'm thinking of Elijah. Yeah

So he just disappeared maybe I don't know so again, maybe looking at the language but also

Why is that called out and then there's no story at all. Mm-hmm. Yeah, it's just

Yeah, oh by the way, but we also know looking back at

last episode in verse in chapter 4 the last two verses 25 and 26

We were

Sort of digesting that like that seems out of place and our conclusion. There was I

Don't think anything in the Bible can be out of place. Yeah, it's there for a reason

Yeah, it's there for a reason like yeah chapter markers and first markers are

Weren't in the original text

and

then also apparently

This is a whole new book that we're reading right and then it's like

Maybe bundled like a whole bunch of scrolls right and bundled into one

I

Guess stack of scrolls like all of these are basically in the same

Category right the Genesis category

The beginning yeah, and

So there has to be a

reason that that's mentioned

So what is that reason? Why why does the Bible just randomly go? Oh and you know, by the way, right he's gone

After 365 years

Which did yours say 365? I think it did. Yeah, so that's where it started of lining

Then the next thing I saw was

Lamech having Noah. Mm-hmm, which by the way lamech was the last

Of Cain's line that was mentioned. That's interesting. Yeah, I just realized that. Mm-hmm

Is there a intentional tie there? And if if so, and

I guess if so, why yeah for what reason

Obviously, there's no way that we'd be able to prove that

Well, there's another Enoch and another Lamech. Yeah

Enoch was the son of Cain. There's no Methuselah the direct son of Cain

and

Lamech was the one that

screwed things up

Went went real crazy. I guess yeah, and we hear more about Lamech sons than oh

There is a hold on that's weird, so there's Methuselah and then there's

Methuselah yeah, so I'm wondering if those are the same names because you know how

Translations

It's almost like a transliteration. Yeah, where it's

They they don't know how to translate it into English. And so they just make it look like it sounds. Mm-hmm

So

Maybe there's something there where God is comparing the line of Cain with the line of Seth

and then Noah is

The first one where there's a quote

For him like it's it's a genealogy and then just add a left field. Here's a quote. Yeah a little

Yeah, this is that Noah. All right, by the way the one who will comfort us

Concerning our work and the toil of our hands because the ground which the Lord had cursed and

Also, like why was he known that way? Yeah

Like the the speaker is saying this I guess the speakers Moses which we should confirm by the way

Apparently that's a well-known phrase. Hmm like Oh Noah. Yeah, the one who basically gave us

The ability to have meaning in our toil or work

Is that what it says? Hold on the one?

This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands

So comfort in all of the the hard work

Because of the ground which the Lord has cursed. Mm-hmm. So I don't know. Yeah, it's a weird

It's a weird thing to say, right? Well, it's a weird thing to say

If you don't know about what Noah is going to do. Yeah, but no, I know what Noah is about to do and or be involved in. No, no, no, no, it I'm saying like, why would Lamech just say that? Did Lamech say that? Lamech his father said that. Oh, I was I was thinking the speaker was Moses. Okay, because I'm wrong here. Lamech lived 182 years and had a son and he called his name. He being Lamech or Lamech and he called him

Noah saying this one will comfort us concerning our work. Okay. Yeah, that's weird. So how did he know that? Did he know it? Or was he just saying it? Yeah, I don't know. God's very good with like, he's very on top of names.

Well, the thing is, is with this, this is this is part of what makes me think that God is just is just having conversations with these people is like sidebars is just they're chilling with some of the some of the people. I mean, look at look at Enoch.

Yeah.

Um, after at the end of chapter four, at that time, people began to call upon the name of the Lord. Yeah. And so maybe that's this group of people. Yeah. Um, what I'd be curious is, uh, who knew who in this line? Like, did Adam know Noah? Did he know Lamech? Did he know Methuselah? Did he know Enoch? That'd be weird.

Yeah.

Yeah. Nations descended from Noah. That's chapter 10. Chapter 11 is the Tower of Babel. There's Shem's descendants, which is one of Noah's sons, Terah's descendants, which is someone from Shem, I think. Okay. All right.

All right. Well, it was it was sort of identified as a possible, uh, other genealogy that conflicted with this one. So, I kind of want to look into is there a genealogy that conflicts with this one? Because when I actually last episode, this is where I got it. Last episode, when I was looking up the age of the earth, if we just take these genealogies at face value, um, it would be somewhere around 6,000 years, right?

From creation day zero to now would be about 6,000. And in all of that said that, uh, it's kind of hard to tell exactly the number, um, because Genesis 5 is a source as well as Genesis 11, which apparently I'm misremembering that, but it said something to that effect.

So, is there another genealogy that conflicts with this one? And, um, is it actually a conflict if it does exist? Right. Anything else?

I mean, we went through the whole thing.

Cool. Did we go through the whole thing?

We did.

Got Lamech.

Got all the way to Noah.

Uh, yeah, it ends with, well, actually, no. It ends with, uh, verse 32, and Noah was 500 years old, and that's usually where it would end, um, until it goes into begot. I guess it would end, or it would continue. So, it says, and Noah begot Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Uh, that's weird.

So, it's almost as if the Bible is, like, zooming out. Like, here's a whole swath of history, uh, from 60,000 feet, and now we're zooming back in. Right? We're not just mentioning the first sons, or one son out of many.

Yeah.

Um, we're mentioning three, and not only three, all of Noah's sons.

Yeah.

We're gonna mention here, and then it goes into even closer, like, okay, let's look at his family now. So, maybe that's why it's talking, like, and Noah's dad said this about Noah, and here's Noah's sons, and now let's talk about Noah and his sons.

Mm-hmm.

That makes sense.

It's interesting, because this is called a book, right?

Yeah.

And so, I'm wondering, does the book really, I mean, is the book really one page? And, like…

I don't think so.

I don't know.

And if it's, if it says this is the genealogy book, uh, then why does it include the story of, of, uh, the judgment of man, like, the flood? Um…

Well, yeah, yeah, that's the other question, is, like, where, where does this book end?

Where does it stop? Yeah.

Um, or is it just this one chapter?

I mean, if we're talking, like, the story of Noah, that goes to, like, chapter, the end of chapter 10.

It, it, it almost feels as though this is, like, the beginning of this chapter.

Yeah.

Like, like, Genesis is actually chapter one through four.

Yeah.

And then there's, like, a book of Noah.

The book of Noah.

Or, like, or, like, the rest, uh, like, I don't know what it would be called, but, like, the fathers of the faith or something.

Yeah.

Like, the book of…

Cause, cause, I mean…

But it's weird, because it, maybe that's why they put the scrolls together, because the previous chapter was Lamech and his sons being the fathers of certain things.

Yeah.

And now it's like, okay, but these are the fathers of the faith.

Noah.

Uh, and then we got the Tower of Babel, obviously.

Dude, I just saw…

Abraham.

I just saw it in chapter 14.

Yeah, dude.

Abram, blessed by Melchizedek.

Uh-huh.

Yeah.

So hyped.

And then the covenants.

Um, and then…

There's a, there, I mean, there's a whole lot that happens.

Oh, you know what's happening here?

What?

Bro, you kidding me?

Are you kidding me?

Uh, so, Lamech, uh, Cain's family, right?

Mm-hmm.

Um, ooh, let's go back farther.

Adam.

Adam and Eve, perfect.

Mm-hmm.

Adam and Eve, not perfect.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, Abel and Cain, Abel good, Cain bad.

Mm-hmm.

Mm-hmm.

Cain did bad.

Now here's bad Cain family, right?

Mm-hmm.

Lamech.

Mm-hmm.

All right.

I might need to think about that more, but this is where I had the epiphany.

Okay.

Uh, Lamech, uh, and his, well, Cain and his family ending with Lamech and the founding

fathers of tents and musical instruments.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, among other things.

Um, Noah and his family, uh, the father of, uh, all of mankind who survives and carries

on, uh, anything and everything, but also as a father of de-faith.

Um, then we have, uh, the Tower of Babel, another bad thing.

Mm-hmm.

Right?

And then we have Abraham, uh, starting out as Abram, um, God making a covenant with him,

uh, through Melchizedek, uh, Melchizedek and directly.

Um, and then after that, Sodom and Gomorrah, maybe it, maybe it doesn't continue that pattern,

but the pattern I saw immediately, um, just jump out at me is good family, bad family,

good family, bad family.

So.

Or good event, bad event, good event, bad event.

Taking what you just said.

Yeah.

This is a classic by classic.

I mean, the classic, um, idea of something that we've actually said in this podcast,

which is more information means as we zoom out, there's just a whole lot and we get lost

in that.

Right.

And I think that's what you just pointed out is that this story is very black and white.

Mm-hmm.

There's the bad side.

Mm-hmm.

There's evil.

Mm-hmm.

And it's, and it's continuation and there's the good side and it's continuation.

But it's also not.

And the, and well, but in it, in it, the Bible constantly goes back and forth.

Here's the good.

Here's the bad.

Here's the good.

Here's the bad.

We see it in Kings.

We see it in.

Kings is a lot of bad.

A lot of bad.

Um, but there are good Kings.

Yeah.

And then we see it with the prophets and them pointing to, you know, this is what's going to happen.

This is the bad stuff that's going to happen, but also here's the good that's going to happen.

And then we see with Jesus, Hey, here's all the bad in the world, but here's the good news.

Right.

And it's just this constant.

Yeah.

Back and forth.

And it's kind of, uh, goes back to the Genesis episode.

Uh, I think it was three morality where we, I, I think we talked about how, when Adam and Eve chose the fruit, they chose their own morality and that made things confusing and a mixed evil and good together.

And because that was mixed together.

Now we've got this, I guess, early on in history, this sort of simple, but not really simple, uh, melding of good and evil.

Right.

Um, and then later in history, it gets more and more mixed up to now before, like in the prophets before the, the years of silence where God doesn't talk to the prophets anymore, doesn't talk to Israel.

He's fed up with them and, and tells them, Hey, y'all are on your own until I come basically.

Um, which again, I need to look that up before I get myself in trouble.

Um, or I'll put in the show notes.

We'll put in the show notes.

Um, but it gets, it becomes gray almost, and it's ever more impossible for us to separate what is right and what is wrong.

Yeah.

Morally.

Um, and what are the Jews doing when Jesus shows up deciding, still deciding what is right morally and what is wrong morally.

And Jesus shows them, nah, you still got it wrong.

Yeah.

You still got, you got it badly wrong.

You're forsaking your own family because you have to tithe.

No, dude, that's not what I meant.

Even a little bit.

No.

And you're tithing so that you can prove to other people you're holier than thou.

The heck is wrong with you, dude.

Your mom and dad are starving over there.

They can't, their roof needed to be replaced yesterday.

What's wrong with you, man?

And you're telling your mom and dad like, oh, I'm sorry.

I got to serve the Lord because I'm holier than thou.

You got your priorities mixed up, sir.

Nah, nah.

And so Jesus comes in and actually starts to separate the gray and to back into what is good and what is right.

Yeah.

And into what is wrong and what is morally disgusting.

Right.

And so it's almost like this, what would you call it?

I would call it like a, I'm imagining, what do you call the timer that has a choke point in the center?

It's like sand.

Oh, hourglass.

Hourglass.

Hourglass shape.

Sure.

I'm imagining history coming to a point where Jesus is that center point in the hourglass.

And then.

Kind of like the flood.

It's like, yeah, right.

It's a choke point of like mass evil, mass confusion.

And then the opposite end is us, is his people, his family spreading the gospel through the world that still wants to become ever more confused.

Yeah.

As Romans 1 says, right?

Ever more confused.

And yet there's a light in the darkness because of Jesus who lives on in us, who's able to keep at least some semblance of understanding of what is right and what is wrong.

Yeah.

And not even just for the sake of that, like Paul hammers that home hard.

It's like, if you want to just know what is right and wrong, just cut your dick off and be a Jew.

That's basically what he says.

Does he not?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Like put your, there's better ways to say it, but put your money, here's one, put your money where your mouth's at.

Yeah.

Go and do what you say you're going to do and shut up.

Yeah.

Right.

I guess it's more than just the law.

It's more than what is right and wrong is Paul's point.

Yeah.

It's coming back to the garden, coming back to walking with God and having such a good time with him that God is like, yo, you're cool, dude.

You're cool, Enoch.

You want to like chill at my dad's house?

Mm.

All right.

Huge riff.

Michael, I saw you had an idea.

You were looking through the Holy Scriptures.

Oh, I just realized that majority of Genesis, or a lot of Genesis, I should say, is Joseph.

Joseph?

Joseph.

For real?

Yeah.

Dude, look at it.

That's nuts.

So we get to Jacob, right?

Chapter 27.

Okay.

Isaac blesses Jacob.

Wait, wait, wait.

Isaac comes in the scene, like, chapter 24 or 23.

Right, right.

Jacob's sent to Laban.

Okay.

Jacob marries Leah and Rachel.

By the way.

Jacob's prosperity.

Jacob flees Laban.

Uh-huh.

Jacob fears Esau, which is some of my favorite.

Oh, that was a good story.

Favorite stories.

Yeah.

The defiling of Dinah.

God blesses and renames Jacob.

Deaths of Rachel and Isaac.

Oof.

Esau's descendants.

Chapter 37.

Uh-huh.

Joseph's dreams.

Uh-huh.

And greatness.

And from there to the end of the book.

Really?

No.

Is just Joseph.

Really?

Yeah.

That's crazy.

Chapter 50.

I thought we talked about Israel.

Chapter 50.

I guess that's true.

And in verse 22, the header is the death of Joseph.

Oh, my God.

I'm like what?

We're gonna have a whole series dedicated to Joseph Joseph. There's that's got that's there's a lot

I feel like there's gonna be a lot to read and oh my gosh. Yeah, what what's going on?

Why is it how many new chapters? Huh? So it's

37 to 50. Yeah, I feel like that's 23, right? No, that's that's 13. Yeah

So, I mean, it's not the majority of Genesis, but it's the majority if we're talking like

Uh, like names. Yeah, like mentions. He's mentioned in 13 chapters. Yeah, that's

Crazy, that's ridiculous. And I mean and and that's with Jacob too. So like yeah, the whole Jacob thing is

Also long like where Jacob started Jacob starts

All the way in

Why you look for that I thought 25, yeah, okay, so that's how that's half of the boy that's that's crazy. That's

Okay, so we were wrong

But you realizing Joseph? Yeah is what open your eyes to Jacob, huh?

We should what about Abraham Abraham? I mean, I see Abraham Isaac Jacob

So why the teen?

14 why is Joseph not mentioned along with Abraham Isaac and Jacob as the founders of

Israel yeah

Abram starts in 12 and that's pretty much a quarter of the book because from a oh no

Is it from Abram Abram Abram is Abraham? He's renamed. All right, but is it from?

Who is the father of Jacob? This is a crazy tangent, but it's Abram. Yeah. Okay. So yeah, so

13 chapters pretty much

Of Abra Abraham. Well, he's mentioned to in the last chapter chapter 50

verse

24 yeah

He swore to Abraham Isaac and to Jacob. So we're gonna have a huge section for Abram

Abraham, yeah, which is why we're taking a break Jacob and a huge

section and the

Huger section for Joseph Joseph is gonna be like honestly, it's good story 50 episode. It's a great story. Oh, it's a fantastic story

some of the best storytelling and more of

Yeah, that's it. I can't believe that's like one day in Sunday school. Yeah, right

And looking I'm like, uh, and there's probably a bunch of details that like I don't remember right and because I thought Exodus

Like the story of Israel. Yeah, was that the like halfway point in Genesis?

Mmm

Interesting, I'm completely wrong dude completely. Yeah, dude Exodus is gonna be like another

200 episodes. Oof. I don't know if we're gonna jump into

Immediately, I feel like we might do our own Exodus before we come back. Yeah, we might move on to something else for 40 years

or so

We'll wander

We'll be let's see

70 around that. Yeah, so we live to like 800 or something. Oh, I'm sure

Well, we'll need more time than that honestly

So let's

Come back to chapter 5. Yeah

Because let's let's try and

Because right now we're at these topics a little bit. Yeah, we're at an hour and 11

Okay, we're gonna do perfume and decay on this topic

Yes

Do you want to separate the decay as like the practical separation of the generations the decay?

I figured was going to be us talking about the actual timeline. Okay, so looking at okay

So what do you want to do right now?

Let's try and

Divide up the topics. Okay divide up. What do you mean by that divide up the topics in terms of categories episodes?

Oh, okay. So first we got a list out all the all the things. Well, I already did. Oh sick. Thanks for that

I've wrote down everything that I think we would talk about. Okay, sick

So and I already did it for each episode. So this should be relatively quick. Okay, awesome

Episode 16. So the one right after this

Genesis 1 through 5. Uh-huh. And the first question is this is the book question mark chapter 5 is a book question mark

um, then from there the blessings

referring to

Male and female he created

Verse 2 he created them and he blessed them and named them man. So what?

Bless your says man. Mine says mankind. Yeah, it's it's referring to man

Okay, so whenever Genesis or the Old Testament or anywhere refers to capital M man

That is not being sexist. No, that's being like that's using the word

Humanity. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah

and then

Calling us man

That's another thing

Yeah, male and female he created them. Yeah

and also

You skipped over verse 1

Making God making them and his likeness. Well, we technically talked about that in

Chapter 1 chapter wherever I think it's to where a guy creates Adam and Eve. Yeah, I mean we can

again jinx

Good gracious deep

I'll listen back to what we originally said so we don't

Recover everything. Mm-hmm. And if we come up with some original idea cool. Yeah, how about I do that?

That's my homework. I'll listen to it. And if I think of anything else, I'll I'll send it in the group chat

And we can talk about it. Sure on next episode. Yeah, cool

The next part is Adam father. This is interesting and and maybe this is necessary as specifically for this Adam fathered Seth

in his own likeness

Mm-hmm image. Oh

That's why it's mentioned twice. Maybe if that's not an accident using the same words same phrases

I'm underlining that

I'll even make a line between the two. That's what I did. Jinx. It's messed up

And then the last thing that I wrote cuz that's a lot. Yeah for one episode

130 years Cain and Abel question mark when question mark so

Yeah, we can kind of speculate if we want which we already did. Yeah, we did last

Yeah about like when they would have been

Yeah

That's so that's

Episode 16, which I called raise raise raise like raise the race raised stuff. Gotcha raised in likeness

17 I have to change the numbers on all these

Which is Genesis 5 6 through 20

living hundreds of years

Officially being able to talk about it. Yeah, technically

Talks about it. We've talked about a lot

What could affect the age difference so again we talked about that

Already. Mm-hmm. Well, we can we're allowed to talk about it now technically in terms of right on the Bible. Yeah

second Enoch question mark

Book of Enoch continued slash from land

land

Convo

Research done question, huh? I'm reading you're not literally what my notes say

Read them verbatim. You're supposed to know exactly what I'm doing

But no specifically like okay, so there's a second Enoch

And then there's also a book of Enoch and where does like that fall in there?

But like okay, so there's the Enoch from Cain and now there's the Enoch

from from the line of Seth

And how does that

Like is that on purpose we can kind of talk about that right which we've already seen that several different different ways

Mm-hmm, which is weird

and then

The first time and this isn't the first time but then I guess

Talking about and had other children were up just for every just for all just for all of these pretty much

Um

Yeah, mine says and had sons and daughters, yeah, I think we should

Which episode are we talking? This is two episodes from now. So 17 and what's called 100 100 got it

Which one is versus 3 through 5

2 3 5 would be

16 so the next episode the episode following this one that we're on right? Okay

So versus 1 through 5 is first episode. Yeah, and what are the topics topics are?

This is the book question mark the blessings

Calling us man

Seth fathered

In Adams likeness and image

130 years Cain and Abel 130 years Cain able. Okay, I think also

Either

First off that's a lot of topics. Yeah, it's probably gonna end up being a

Well, I don't I don't think we're gonna do a whole lot with man with the mankind thing

I don't think we're gonna do a whole lot with 130 years. Hey, remember last time you said that I mean cuz

specifically because the man thing

We'd literally just said it

Okay, because it's humanity. Okay

And the book thing in Seth in likeness probably the main topic is going to be likeness and image

When it comes to Seth, yeah. Yeah, probably. Yeah, that was really interesting. Yeah, so my interest already

So that's

So what I'm getting at is I want us to cover the language

Why this is so repetitive

Okay

Like it's the same exact

phraseology for

Each I think that would be good for when we get through all of it

mmm

Why why yeah

It would either be good for when we get through all of it or before we get through all of it

That's what I'm thinking before

Reason being is if there's a reason for the phrase

Being lined up that way

And to look into the lane like the original language of it

to see if there's

Deeper meaning behind it all that could frame or other conversations in a completely different way. Sure

For example yours your version says that

Let's see here. I'll read six through eight Seth lived 105 years read along so you can see the difference

that's Seth lived

105 years and

begot Enos

So what does your say when Seth had lived 105 years? He fathered Enos?

Okay, sick and after he begot Enos Seth lived

807 years your says

You

Well, let me finish and had sons and daughters

Yeah, seven says seven says eight hundred seven. Yeah, so all the days of Seth for nine hundred and twelve years and he died

Yep. Okay

Let's jump forward first 15. Mahalo lived 65 years and begot Jared. Mm-hmm

After he begot Jared Mahalo lived eight hundred and thirty years. Yep and had sons and daughters

So all the days of Mahalo were eight hundred and ninety-five years and he died yep

Dear says that yeah, was I just mishearing you completely this entire time. It seems like it. Yeah, Jared was 162 years

800 years and had other sons and daughters

962 yep Enoch 65 years

father

Fusilla 300 years and then 365. Uh-huh. Okay, then Hainan 70 in 70 years

840 years 40 910. Yep

Enosh 90 90 815 905. Yep. Okay

105 for Seth. Yeah, hundred and eight hundred seven. Yep, 912. Yep. Okay, I guess I'm stupid

Mm-hmm

Well, that's that yeah

I'd still do want to figure out

the like phraseology like is this

Is there something behind it? Like is this just a common way to write genealogies?

Or is this the first genealogy of all time coming? Um, oh, that's why I was gonna I said we should do it at the end

because

technically

We're gonna do research for the end

After we go through everything and that would require research. Oh, right to see if we

Miss something or yes interpreted something. Yeah. Okay, cool. Yeah, and we could also cover on that last one

If there's any conflicts

With other genealogies. There we go

I like this where it's like almost we're bringing the audience into the the planning phase. Yeah

I will and when it comes to things like this and

As you hopefully know at this point I want to do things consistently, sorry one more time

The way the way we're doing this I want I want to do consistently I missed the last word

Okay consistently I got it I got it

Savannah scream. Oh

My gosh, right what a sound

You're talking. I'll bring it up. No, no, no. No, no when she comes on. Yes. Okay, absolutely

Embarrassment

Not sorry, um, but I want to do things consistently and and starting with this even though we don't have

An audience I think

when

We do this in the future. This will be good

Practice. Yeah, and I think it's just a good idea. Anyways, because we do a dry a dry run

And then we do some research and really get into the nitty gritty of what's actually going on here.

Yeah, so more consistently with the podcast, what you were saying earlier at the coffee shop,

we don't want to prepare, which I had the conversation, he won again, Stephen.

No.

He won again.

He won again.

Oh gosh.

Uh, if I had good reasons, I'll remember them later and then we'll have this conversation

again and you'll complain that I keep forgetting and I'll tell you, no, I don't keep forgetting.

Uh, I just disagree sometimes.

Um, I think just to fill you in the audience.

Um, I think sometimes that we should prepare more, um, so that you don't hear us ramble so

much and we don't stumble over our own words and make a fool of ourselves.

But Michael, we're kind of here to make a fool of ourselves.

Yeah.

And I also agree.

And for some reason, forget quite a bit.

Um, that's, we're not here to be everybody else.

We're not here to, uh, impress anybody.

We're not here to prove that we're better than you.

I mean, we're here to prove the opposite.

Yeah.

We're here to prove that we're the same.

Unlike, uh, we, we are not prepared.

We are not studied.

We are not, we did not plan this out.

Yeah.

Um, that's why this is fitting that we're planning this here with you and it would be

better if we actually had anybody in the live audience.

Cause then they could call us out.

No, no, they could read along.

And they'll be like, yeah.

When, when you said to us, like, what do you see so far?

We could see what the audience sees too.

Just reading the chat for future, future note.

I can't wait for that to happen.

Dude, I, I, I think, I think when we actually have an audience, um, I mean, my hope is that

they sit there and they're just like, wow, I can actually like follow, follow along and.

Digest what's being said.

And I mean, we, we, we are studied to some degree, but we're not, we're not trying to

be so studied for the episode that all we do is talk about what it is that we studied.

And what we found.

But it's more what our initial thoughts are, which is what we bring when we read the word of God.

But we bring our initial thoughts and then we kind of, we leave it there.

It's almost like that spark of like, hey, we just went through this

and this is what's going to motivate you to read.

Prove us wrong.

Read it again.

Yeah.

And, and, and yeah, prove us wrong to be like, wow, these guys are idiots.

Yeah.

Slash like.

Probably are.

Also like, oh man, what they'd said is actually really interesting.

And I'd like to take that further and keep going and keep reading and, and, you know,

carry that idea or.

It's going to take us forever to get through all of this.

Yeah.

And so why don't you go, uh, why don't you Corgis go first off,

once we get an audience, you can rename yourself.

Okay.

But until then you're Corgis.

I don't know.

I might force it upon them.

Oh, no, we can, we can have a division.

My team is called the Corgis.

The rest of everybody else doesn't exist.

They're cut off.

This is a challenge to you, Corgis.

Why don't you read ahead?

Yeah.

Cause, and cause it's going to take us forever.

Yeah.

Like we only do one a week, uh, if that, and if you go ahead and read ahead, um, once we get to

where you've read and you've dug in, maybe you've dug in with friends and you've, uh, found those,

those jewels and those, those things that just make you astounded, uh, like it does us.

Goosebumps.

Look at it.

Goosebumps.

Dang.

Yeah.

Um, just remembering all the times we've been astounded on this, uh, on this podcast.

Yeah.

Um, like you see, you hear the excitement in our voices.

Yeah.

In our faces.

And like, just, you remember that episode where I like got up and like through the fan stuff.

It was wild.

Yeah.

Um, actually I think that was a half-breed, but anyways, um, you can follow along and see if we

come to the same conclusions, uh, or find the same jewels that, that you and your team did.

Yeah.

Um, or if you're doing it by yourself, that's cool too.

Give me some insights.

Cause I don't know how to do this on my own for some reason right now.

Maybe it's that we're, we're the dummies.

We are dumb.

And we're, we're calling for our audience to be.

To better us.

The, the, the learned ones.

Which, yeah.

Yeah.

Of course you're gonna, we're gonna have people that are eventually listening.

Yeah.

That are way smarter than we are.

I mean, my brother listens every now and then.

What's interesting about that too.

All of us, I think.

Yeah.

In his own unique way.

Yeah.

But I think he's read the Bible more than all of us.

Yeah.

Yeah.

What's interesting about that too is, um, this is us to a degree learning.

Yeah.

To, uh, uh, it is a showing us.

Going through a learning process.

Yeah.

Um, in a very entertaining way.

And it's, to be clear, this shouldn't be the only time that we're learning.

No.

Um, but it is the only time that we're doing it before an audience that can, and probably does.

No more than we do, um, which, yeah, I can't wait till we have an audience.

I think that would be awesome.

But imagine that.

Like if I had a, a podcast that I could listen to like this and then I would for sure.

Dig ahead and see if they mentioned the same things that I did.

Oh yeah.

If they don't.

I'll call them out on the live.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Like, Hey, you guys missed that one little bit.

You dummies, but not like that.

It's more like an excitement.

It's like, this is a family and like, boy, you're telling me you missed this.

Guess what?

Let me show you.

Oh, also I just found out, uh, we have the ability to go live on Instagram.

Oh, sweet.

So once I program something where it actually like.

Uh, I guess frames us correctly, uh, in a portrait mode.

Yeah.

In theory, we could bring someone on live from Instagram.

Cool.

Yeah.

That'd be sick.

Right.

Yeah.

Make it a little easier to have another person.

Call-ins.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And it would be suiting too.

Instead of just having a phone call or something.

Yeah.

Um, maybe he will get a body.

Probably not.

Oh, episode, like 200 humanity body, the body of Christ, the body of no, no humanity.

Oh, spicy.

Wait, you forgot the space, the body of humanity.

I said what I said.

We should continue with, with this.

Yeah.

Um, but episode, so episode 18, totally dedicated to Enoch, um, because, uh, just talking about.

Walking with the Lord, I think is a good pause in being token token.

Sure.

Um, then nine, 19, uh, we talk about.

The better versions, if you will, of Enoch and Lamek, uh, and then Noah.

And why did Noah say, why did Noah say what he said?

About why did Lamek say what he said about Noah?

Um, and then we'll probably throw in there that Noah's children came after Noah was 500 years old.

Yeah, that's crazy.

Cause what I've noticed before is, uh, my brother has told me several times I'm wrong,

but I've noticed before that, uh, there's a small.

But noticeable, uh, what other people would say is statistically significant portion of people,

uh, that are, um, are mentioned as I guess, holier or more righteous or, uh, pursuing God more

than the others.

Uh, there's a, a, a correlation between those people, uh, and the other people and the fact

that they wait X amount of years to have their first children.

And I forget if it's, you don't wait as long and that means you're correlated to being

righteous or you wait longer and you're correlated to being righteous.

And again, my brother says I'm wrong.

So maybe I'll bring his notes on, um, to counter my point.

Um, but it seemed to me at the time when I read that and realized that,

that there was a stick to statistical, sorry, let me put the nerd voice on.

Ready?

It seems to be a statistical, likely a statistical correlation between, uh, those two things.

Nice.

Thank you.

Um, I need tape on my glasses now.

Yeah, you do.

So with that, the following episode after that, so that we just talked about episode 19.

Okay.

Episode, the following episode, episode 20.

Oh dude.

Perfect.

That's 10 episodes a season.

It is.

If, yeah, because, uh, technically we do a recap.

Oh yeah.

And the recap episode was episode 10.

It was, it was.

So that would mean episode 11 would be our recap or sorry.

Our 11th episode would be the recap, which is fine.

That's fine.

It's not a big issue, but, um.

It was almost perfect.

Episode 20 will be our.

Uh, our learned, we did research.

Oh, you know what?

No things.

Now what is it?

We should call it the scholar session and we should come in like robes and like the

tassels, the tassels on the other side.

I like that though.

That's funny.

And we got to act all like better than everybody.

Right.

Oh, yeah, sure.

I thought we already did that.

Oh, but even more so.

Right, right, right, right, right.

Just like, I think you guys do that all the time.

Yeah.

Rude.

I mean, it's not rude if it's, I guess it could be rude and true.

The truth hurts.

The truth does hurt.

Yeah.

Scholar session.

I like it.

Thank you.

Um, and then the following episode is recap.

Recap where we recap it.

Yeah, we do, man.

I'm on fire today.

Steven doesn't think so.

I can never please Steven season two.

Have I told you that when we're, when I'm driving places?

Cause I'm his slave.

You can never please him.

I can't please him.

Whoa.

I can't please him with my driving ever.

Does he do that to you?

Um, he doesn't talk to me.

Does he like you?

I can't please him with my voice.

Oh, he doesn't, you can't, I think personality doesn't.

I think if I was female, he would like me more.

Maybe a lot of men have not told me.

I was about to say.

Actually.

Who?

Cause not me.

It's, it's more like, um, wait, I don't know if I approve of this friendship anymore.

Um, I'm in danger.

What are they selling?

Uh, my brain totally turned off.

Well, you said that guys tell you often you'd be a better woman than you are a guy.

And then you said, actually, nevermind.

And then you went off into wonderland and Stephen said, I feel like.

We shouldn't be friends anymore.

And that he was in danger.

He is in danger.

All the time.

All the time.

He just doesn't know it.

He never sees it coming.

He can't really, you know, one day he'll cut us off and say, he knows he's coming before we say it.

Maybe, maybe.

Probably not.

Cause he won't see it coming.

He still, he still didn't get it.

Ah, that was so easy, Stephen.

Come on.

Don't hit me, please.

Don't.

Oh, no.

You got me.

Hit me baby.

One more time.

Actually.

Not one was good enough.

Thank you.

Good.

I'm reformed, sir.

Oh, high fives.

I get it.

Um, sorry.

I'm trying to, there we go.

Trying to carry over the notes to the next portion.

Um, so we're into the K now.

So we are into decay.

Heck yeah, dude.

So that means.

Yeah.

Time to do some math.

Yes.

I will try and extend this out here.

Oh, that's not gonna work.

Um, here, uh, since no one's on the live right now.

What?

I'm going to get you a mic that can travel with your shirt.

Oh, sure.

A little lav mic.

I think this will work.

Um, it will not work.

No.

And I'll be, I'll definitely be talking.

Give us a moment.

Poor favor.

Actually, let me put the, the mic sock that grandma so kindly knitted for us.

Uh, grandma.

I love her.

Dude.

I can't wait to do merch.

Right?

Uh, catch.

You screwed.

I wasn't ready.

Hard.

Oh, I think this might work with your mouse, by the way.

Okay.

How do we know if it's working?

Um, we don't, we have to, uh, pray and hope, uh, right now it's not working.

Um, I'll cut most of this out unless by popular demand, we need to keep it in.

I mean, it doesn't really matter.

It kind of does.

It kind of does.

Yeah, I'll cut it out.

Something like this does.

Believed to be this could be of the on the the BTS the BTS the full or the full episode

The live the live for the season once the season's over. It's gone once the season

All right, we're back everybody

That weird interrupt

You may have wondered what was going on?

What what what happened? Why does Michael sound?

stupid no, and why

Did it especially if you're listening to a podcast version of it? That isn't a live version. That's true

Yeah, if you're listening to the edited version, that's better to say. Oh

You should have saved that for the BTS. What's going on here? That's really sweet

I've had real sugar soda real fake sugar soda. Yeah

So

So now that we're back, yeah, we will be getting into this genealogy and we're gonna make our own

Timeline, oh, I like timelines, um future anybody back to the future

Back in time this time to the past

um

So starting we should start with adam. Yeah

Uh, should I put a title here what this is whatever you want? Okay. Um, oh, oh, hold on. Hold on

I gotta refocus. Well do your thing. Okay, i'm just gonna refocus the video

Uh, because it's focusing on your face. Oh, that's fair. Yeah, so i'm gonna have a focus on your hand

um

Actually, I think I can give it

Give you the ability to control. Should I have?

An eraser what here use a napkin? I have an eraser. Oh now the audience gets to see everything. Yeah, they do our

room

This is fun. Um on the go

Okay, uh, should I put a title here this is I turned on hand tracking for you

Are you sure how do you spell genealogy? Uh

G. Oh, yeah, there isn't a g e n e a l o g y genealogy

Okay line of adam genealogy

And today class we will be

It's focused on your uh, by the way, it's focused on your hands which which hand though, right? I think yeah, probably right. Yep

It's fun watching it. Um

So obviously we're starting with adam

Oh, I'd switch back

Adam, it probably should just be fixed on yeah, I could do that. Yeah. Yeah, i'll lock it in

um from adam i'm gonna i'm i'm actually gonna put

uh

Genealogy

Kane

and

And today class able but we're gonna put an x here because technically they don't

They're not they're dead they don't care we don't care about keen keen we don't know about but

But they're they're not part of this specific genealogy, right? Um, they're excluded from the

first son ness

So we got adam

And it says what does it say about adam? Um

When adam had lived 130 years

So we got 130. Let me write this down in my bible, too

If you're listening along and you're not driving and you have your bible in front of you if you'll feel free

to write in the

Margins, that's what they're for. Yeah. Um, if you feel bad about writing in your bible, that's cool, too

um, no shame

um

I would recommend buying a cheapo bible, uh, even though that's a

Not a thing. Um, but you know what I mean

Buy a bible that has margins

And that you feel comfortable marking up because it's so helpful

So helpful

All right, so i'm writing this down. So I 30 I drew an arrow

To this line right here. So adam 130 years can enable her in there somewhere

um, and then we have the way i'm gonna do it is i'm just gonna go

Should we create a graph like a timeline at the bottom? Um, well first first things first

You are the realist. Uh, and

Shouldn't we figure out how much time?

Is the total span?

So that we can figure out like say it's a thousand years

Yeah, we put a thousand years at the bottom of that thing that that whiteboard

um, and we can split it into

tenths each

each

Split would be 100 years. Well, let's do that at the end. It'll be it'll be easier to do at the end

I think because we're trying to figure out how much time notes. Yeah, okay. Okay

So adam lived 130 years and begot a son in his own likeness after his image and named him seth

After he begot seth

The days of adam were 800 years and he had sons and daughters

So all the days that adam lived were

930 years

And he died

So 800 years. Oh, yeah 800. So you lived 900 and

30 years

and we'll put

Dead dead. Okay, and then seth

Yeah, so seth, uh lived 105 years and begot enosh so 105

five

Years and we got enosh

Hmm

Okay

then then

Um seth lived

Sorry, am I on the right thing enosh? Yeah, uh after he begot enosh, uh, seth lived 807 years

Which makes it 912. Yeah. Yeah

Dead okay. Yep and enosh so wait, so let's

So right now

It's 130 years

plus 912

No, yes, are you sure? Yes, wait, wait say it again. So adam lived 130 years, right? Yeah. Yeah

So that puts his death at zero

at 130

Plus 912 years when seth dies when seth dies, but then why don't we just do uh,

um the amount of time that's that each person lives until they have kids and that's probably why they

Do it that way

So that you can add up that first number. Yeah

And you get the full but i'm saying i'm saying

As far as we we are right now, we're at a thousand years

Like that or that have happened. Oh that can have happened. Oh, yeah. Oh

That's nuts. Yeah. Wow. Goodness gracious, right?

Interesting enough i'm pretty sure let's see

Plus 912 years

Adam outlives seth I think

Because 130 plus or nine he lives 930 years

Yeah, but i'm saying my brain is running. You said outlives seth. I

Are you sure so seth lives 105 years begot enosh, um

After he begot enosh seth lived 807 years

Um in total he lived 912 years

I know i'm uh

No, no because seth is

912 uh adam

Had seth at 130

and

Wait, oh wait, I didn't write this number down. Wait. Okay. Wait, let's do this lives. So 200 and 30 years 205 years later

plus

Or sorry

At year 235 okay plus

807 or plus

Yeah, plus 807 that lands us. Um

You're doing it in a way that I wouldn't

So you're on your own i'm going to do a lot of things

Um

That puts us at

A thousand and

12 so

No, no

A thousand and 42 that's what it is. Yeah. So 1042

Is the span of time but at nine and 9 30

Okay. Yeah, you're right. So that lives. All right, never mind. Anyways, let's continue

Enosh. Yeah

Enosh lives lives 90 years

Before he has canaan

Then he lives 815 more years

So he lives a total of 905 years

Before

Uh, this is verse 9 through 11. Okay, so he only lives 805 years

So does no 905 905. Yeah. Oh

So 1042

It's going to put it nine nine 30

Okay, yeah, you're right

Let's continue

Enosh lives

Wait, wait 905 years later or he dies at 905. He dies at 905. Okay, how many years was regenerate 15?

Sorry, that was too simple of a math for me to do. Okay canon

Uh canaan, uh, it's not canon. It's like the land of canaan. So no it's not c a

Does your bible say canon? Yes, really? Let me see. Let me see this. What do you mean?

Um verse

9 um

Yeah, your bible's defective

This is canon. Yeah, it's crazy. So mine says canaan. Okay, that's a uh prime example

of I wonder what yours says for

Lamek, sorry

I wonder if anybody can take me seriously wearing that shirt. Probably not

What a beautiful

Shot of your shirt there. Yeah, right. I just got um

If you're really if you're listening to this podcast in the car first, i'm, sorry. Yeah, um second, uh,

canon, it's just

Give it give a watch. It's just a shirt action. It's just before the shirt. That's it. Canon lives 70 years

Yeah

Canaan lived 70 years and he begot me. Hello

And my gosh, i'm just gonna put uh, mh. Mhl. M h

l

from hello

Um canan son, so canon 70 years

Or canan, whatever mhl for me. Hello. This is verse 12. I mean

Yep, 840 years 840 years. Yep. What do you say stephen?

So he died at

Yeah, i'm just taking all the uh battles out. Okay

Yep, 910 total then we got 65 for mhl from the hello

Five he lives, uh, 830 after 895 total

Okay, yeah, yeah the next one jared

um

162 jared

Shout out to jared. Uh made my brother's best friend from childhood. Nice doxed. Um, they live in goodyear doxed. Uh,

I don't know if they still do i'll bleep it out. Um, he lives 800 years after uh, fathering enoch

That's nine

Can he do it folks? Wow, dude, he got it

I'm proud of you

And then enoch

enoch lives 65 years

And then had methuselah

mess

That works

Don't do math people

Only if your doctor says you can

Only when your doctor prescribes it how many years?

uh after

Yeah, okay. Uh

365 300 300. Sorry

And he lives 300

But he doesn't die right no death for that guy

Um math, um, that was the key that's why he didn't die meth

So true so true king, um

Meth lived

187 years 187 had a kid. Oops. I wrote one zero and lived

782 more years

Which is 909

Wait, nope

I screwed it up in my bible. Let me cross it out because I wrote it in pen

Yeah, guess who meth has uh,

lamek lame oh lamek

Don't do math kids climax, but if you're 18 and your doctor says so

Lamek I don't know if he has

Lamek has noah

But he lives 182 blissful years before that kid

Okay a little troublemaker him then lineups, um

He lives 500. Wait, hold on. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait after he had no

Yeah, 595 years

So all the days of lamek

Hold on i'm still writing down some stuff here. Steven

777 sir. Wow, look at him go folks. I could have just remembered that because that's the only time that

777 yo

Remember sevens mean a lot

Yeah in the hebrew culture number of perfection. Yeah the number of completion, uh,

Like the final number the final day. Yeah creations and then emphasis and the language was to repeat it

Uh, usually three times, right? Yeah, if it's like really really really important. Yeah, let's see what I did there

Oh good

Uh, yeah

Noah was 500 years old

And then had shim ham and japeth. Okay

So starting at the beginning we'll say

Oh, you gotta move your mic mic out of the way

No, not that mic the other one. Oh this one. Yeah, I get that

Yeah that way perfect

So starting at the beginning maybe even the chair. Sorry, just push it in here's something that works

And also no just kidding go for it

Starting at the beginning. Yeah, so

We have yeah

creation

Zero zero creation is created. Yep as it usually is six days

Okay, so okay

Now in there we have Adam, right, yeah, we do

And Eve don't be sexist don't care about women. Whoa

in this time of the

In this time of line of line. Yeah

After a hundred

In 30 years, yes

well before then he has

Abel and Cain, but like where where?

Not sure

And able but then we got Seth, okay

Seth we got

A

Hundred and five years a good old one of our 235 years in

Yep, and Adam gets to see

his grandchild

Enosh yeah, yes

Enosh lives

90 yep, and then he and then that's a good 325 325

Years later Adam gets to see his great. Yeah, great grandson. Yeah, that's not stayed

Win for Adam on a great great. Great. Great. That's his son. Seth is his son. Yeah, so Enosh is his grandson

Sorry

great great

I

Mind it wrong

Because after Enosh lives 90 years then he gets to have oh

Yeah, I'm working and whatever and yeah

Shut up Stevens. He gets to see his great great grandson. You're agreeing with me saying I'm stupid and then

Wow, nice chill and then we get and we get

Canaan lives 70 years. Yeah, he lives 70 years and then we get or he has

Hello, MHL. Yep, so that's 395 years. I'm a Joe

395 years later. He gets to see his great great great grandson, huh?

Are you writing those numbers down? No, not yet. Okay

Then we got 65 years no lives before we get 65

And we get

Jared

460 years. I don't still live Adam is still alive. Yeah

460s up dude. He gets to see his great great great

Grandson goodness gracious

And then am I going up I'm going up then we got Enoch. Yeah

after

162 years 162. Yep. Where's that put us?

good old

622 years. Okay, so Adam's getting up there. Yeah, but he's still got another

Almost 300 years left. Yeah

Then Enoch has

Are you asking me 65 years? No another 65. That's interesting, right?

Does it mean something he has math rates? Ooh

First guy ever first cather ever. Let me tell you

And

He liked this so much. I never died. Never dad. Never that's 687, dude. Thanks. Yeah now we have a

hundred and eighty seven years

Mm-hmm

Methuselah waits a hundred and seven years

that child

before he has

lamb at all Lamech

or Lamech

Okay, that's a hundred and seventy four years

874 years

Let me get this straight Adam gets to see his great great. I'm sorry

Yeah, his great great great great great great grandchild. How many greats was that five?

One two, three, four five six six greats later. That's nuts. And then Lamech has Noah

182 years 182 so

No, it's dead. No, it's not not Noah's. Yeah, Noah's dad. I said dead. Sorry

Adam's dead. Adam is dead

What is this 182 that's a thousand fifty six years a thousand fifty six years

Okay, so we're so 126 years too late to see Noah. So we're at

1000 how much

Years in total here. Yeah in total. That's that's the year that Noah was born is a thousand fifty six

So somewhere in here and then Lamech has Noah Adam dies. Yeah

Now in there that's accurate

But now at 930 at 930, yeah, so how many years before

Noah is that how many years before no before Noah before Noah was born. Yeah

Gosh

We just got to subtract

126 so

That's 126 years, yeah now when does

Seth time he he died

912 years old

912 let's place it on the timeline though. It is gonna be on the timeline, but you're doing in a weird way

I'm in a way that I would not do it. That's great

So

so

912 how many years go by for him? You mean Oh after Adam dies, so we're talking first natural deaths here

So yes, well not first, but so Adam dies at

930 that's 930 years

after creation

so

I've got to do is take

Years that Seth lived at the hundred and thirty

That Adam took to have him. So that's almost

That's four years after Noah was born. Oh good point. So after is born we have a way after no, that's

He dies before Noah's born because no, I'm stupid six. I'm sipping. You're right

So it's like 14 years before Noah's born set that 14 years before Noah. Yeah

Seth that's

14 years, I'm gonna say the end

And he dies at 912

Yeah, okay, then we got Enos

He lives to 905 905. Yeah, and that's gonna add the 105 and the 130

Adam and Seth and that's 1140 1140. Okay, so this is

Wow, this is so 16 years she for Noah

When the flood is yeah, cuz was there people in his family line that died with the flood

Let's find out

Yeah, we'll do this. Mm-hmm. I'm actually gonna make this

Okay

Longer so I didn't realize that we had so many people dying before Noah was even gone

So Noah was 600 years old when the floodwaters were on the earth

What a prime prime number, but it's not even Prime's purpose, you know, I mean, so we got

Then we got

Enos yeah lived

And a five which is how many that's

Yeah, yeah, which is 16 years

Before Noah, I already told you this number 1140. I know I haven't I haven't written it down

Yeah, wait, wait 16 years before Noah. Yes. No, no Enos dies. That's is 14 years before Noah

Yeah, you know is at

timeline from zero

1140 years

Yeah 140 years, yeah

So that's six. That's after Noah's born

one thousand one thousand one hundred

Yeah

Okay

140 so actually here we're gonna we're doing this before and after Noah

So how many years after Noah is that?

Good question

Um

140 minus

That's 84. Oh

84 years, that's 84 a.m

Yeah

after Noah Noah

and we have

84 years. We have the death of what's-his-name?

Enosh

Enosh who lived to be on a hundred nine or five. Mm-hmm. Okay, son. Kanan lives a total of 910 years

So he lived and

When does that where does that land us? Oh

Hold on math here

130 plus

105 of Seth's plus the 90 of

Enosh

We're talking about cannon, right? Yeah, okay, so that's places on 1235 but on the Noah

Timeline if we're going that way minus one. Oh five six, right?

1056 years that's a hundred and seventy nine years after Noah's born

79 years

Yeah

K&N for some reason

Would

Number 84

Yeah, 84 84

That's a different way

all right, and then

Shannon came in

as Mahalo Mahalo

Yeah

lives to the primal age of

895 fights

and if we add Adams and

Seth's and enosh's time before they have kids plus canons, which is 70 that is

1290 minus

1056 I think I'm math that wrong. Oh

Let's see

Mmm. Nope, I did not

234 years

234 years after Noah's born all after Noah. Oh

Oh

Yeah, 84 and 179 after Noah, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah

We're just gonna have to do some yeah, that's fine. Okay, I mean I'm after

What's what's 234 minus 179?

55 okay, that doesn't mean anything. Okay, that's a good

Now we're looking at Jared looking at Jared lives to 962 years

Yes

And that is

7065 minus 1056. That is 366 years after Noah's born

960 teasers

Yeah, okay, then we got

366 no, no that the amount of time that Gary live

Yeah, 895 and then we got you not wait 962. Yeah, you knock

It lives to 365 rights

Well, he lives till now

How many years is that let's just say 6,000 years

Sure, because he's still oh

Years, so he definitely dies before Jared, huh? No, he's gone from this dimension

From this place, right? All right, you know, he leaves

He lives seen. All right, wait, he dies before Jared. He didn't know you knock does not die

God takes on hunch. I'm going to hurt you. When does he not believe he leaves the scene?

How many years after let me do the math calm down, dude. Yeah chill

Do you know how to math like I know how to math you're using technology. Yeah, so

Sure at least it's not AI. Oh

So he definitely died

What hold on that I

Screwed that up hard. Okay. Give me a second. I just realized that we should have been putting the

When does he not believe the difference between these?

How many years after

She

You're using technology

Hundred and it's 987. Oh

It does make sense. Okay, I didn't mess it up the first time. So hold on

69 years before Noah's born

What he knock is taken off the scene 69 years before Noah is born oh

Yeah, so

Gosh, so we got me zoom in for everybody. He knocked he does it 365

And that's how many years?

Oh

Wait 69 69 before oh, so he dies even before

Set you didn't die. Oh my gosh. Shut up. Gotta be technically correct here. He went to heaven. There you go

He did not die dad no just because you go to heaven does not mean you died

Physical body died. How about that? No, I did not it had to

No, it did not have to we should talk about that. Oh my gosh

That's how many 96 92 69 69

For no, okay. Oh my god, jimmy's free. That's crazy

So

Now we got methuselah

Um 187 a year. Well, hold on 969 years and then he dies

Yeah, so that's give me a minute

It's a good thing I wrote down all these numbers in my bible, otherwise this would take forever

um

Almost there loading loading loading 600 years even after after noah what is born?

Yep, 600 years. What's you know, what's nutty about that one?

lives, uh

Uh, he he's 600 when the flood comes

It's coincidence. That's crazy

probably um

Probably how many so previously it was 360 how many years in between?

Uh

Mhl's

Mahalo's death. Yep, and meth steps how many years between mahalo and meth? Yeah, 600

minus 366 isn't that like 200 and

Wait, what'd you say? 30? It's 234. No one. Okay, whatever you said, what did you say? Uh, okay then from

Maths death talamic. Yep

Uh, well lameck lives

A total of 777. Yes

so previously it was oh

Does he not?

What hold on? Okay. No continues

Dude i'm gonna know all these numbers after this. Yeah, you are

Not dude i'm gonna kill at like bible trivia

In this very thing. Jimmy's freaking out

Yeah, jimmy gave up. No, he's looking at your hand. Why is he looking at my hand? Because your face is

Not good enough for radio what happens in being fixed on one area? Yeah, he's fixed on your hand

You can't just fix them in this area. No, they'd be boring

my god

Um, wait, I added 182 when I shouldn't have to lameck you distracted me sir

Hold on. Uh, that's what what I came out to 595

After noah, okay. Yeah make

Yeah, it does because he only lived to be on all right

He's like 200. Oh, he died in the flood

Holy crud probably right? No, because then lameck then methuselah couldn't have lived to 969. No, he could have

no

Okay, let's do that

Noah's born. Uh

After he but got noah lameck lived 595 years and so he lived 777 years, uh

Oh, I guess he yeah, yeah, so he died five years before the flood so wait wait when

He said nine or 595

Uh after noah is born. Yeah

okay, um

I'm sorry. I'm an idiot. I didn't have to do the math for that. The bible literally says 595

Where see you don't have to agree with me

But that no no no but years after

Noah it says that yeah

595 years after noah was born. Yeah, so he lives 595 years after noah's born. Oh, look at that. Yeah, and we got is uh

When I looked up 600 years, uh, like looked up when the flood is it says noah was 600 years old

So his dad died five years before otherwise, we probably would have seen lameck on the boat

Okay, uh, then we got

Math this is 27

Math lived to 969. No, it says that

995 595 was born. So he lives five years. Um

And then

Continues okay

Interesting

So

Adam is still the first to die, but enoch is the second to die

Isn't that crazy? So how many years are we at total? We're at?

Hold on. We keep saying enoch died and he did not okay. It doesn't matter. We don't he's not on this earth

He is dead to the world

Yeah, you know what the viewers see you as oh my gosh, who is that parent?

You know what? They see you as right now the best

Awesome how many years okay, so it's 1656 years

Wait, you lost me. What's that's how long?

um

So that's how long the earth has been around once

Methuselah has died still the first to die. He's the last one to die in this genealogy

Okay. Well of the noah. No, obviously lives. No, no, no. No lameck is the last one, right? No, really?

Oh, yeah, we covered this. Yes, we did that. This was the last one to die. Yeah 969 years. Uh-huh

um

Nice, so the earth has been around at that point

1656 years

How many thousand how many how many one thousand six hundred and fifty six years goodness gracious brother

Are you sure because my math came out to?

1651 years, uh when

Lamek died. So how many years?

After did methuselah die? Well other than five years after that. Oh, okay. Wow. Easy math

Wait a minute. Does that mean methuselah died in the flood?

I think that means the methuselah died in the flood 969 years. Well if

If noah had to be 600 years old then he would have died

Because yeah, yeah lameck had noah what a fine dude no in the slud. Oh

That's crazy in the 600

Year of noah's life in the second month on the seventh day of the month on that day all the fountains of the great deep

First fourth. Yeah, 600 years 600 years. Yeah, the the flood happens. That's why

Methuselah dies. That's crazy blood. So six

That's crazy blood so six

sixteen hundred and fifty six years

after creation

and we have

The flood well, and let me double check that number. So it had to be 600 years

Uh 65 again in the 600

Uh 187

On that day all the fountains of the great deep and then lameck, which is 182

Wait, wait, wait, wait. I only need to do methuselah because lameck lives doesn't live as long. Okay, so six

What no, no, it's it's from lameck to noah being born is 182 years

Yeah, you're right. You're right

Then so I could do this plus the uh, 782, uh, that's

That methuselah lived so yeah, right 1656

Total of 1656 years, how long does it take for a near perfect society to become completely cursed?

Apparently at least a thousand years

At least a thousand

Wow, yeah

That's crazy. Thanks for all that stuff down. That was a lot. It's a little messy. Yeah

No, it's not. I mean, no

Beautiful. No, uh

Um

I don't know. Are there any other things that we uh missed or could write down? So hold on. Okay, so adam

Adam got to see

All the way up to lamex, so how many grandchildren was that one two, three, four five six seven

You got to see seven grandchildren. Whoa

And it's sorry first first grandchildren because they had everybody had sons and daughters

That's crazy after that right. How many did they have is the question? Yeah, dude if they had one of each after that's

21 grandchildren

The other children, right well i'm saying if they have one of

One one each one each of the sexes after that. That's three times seven

No, it's uh

All the way up to the land. How many grandchildren is that one two, three, four five? I would say at least four

Just to keep it

Sorry, okay

So then that's 28

Able to have other families. Sure. Then that's instead of just following like from seth to enosh

It'd be seth, you know, uh has enosh

Uh in his line. Yeah, that's everything here. Well us everybody else. So that's um

Plus the the x so seven seven generations

Times what is that called seven factorial i'm saying

I left. Um, that's three times calculus. I never got the calculus. Yeah. Yeah, I left calculus pre-calculus fine. Yeah

Should we call my brother? No, it'd be hilarious. Oh, wait, he's asleep so you can't do that. Well, um

I think it's factorial, uh, I could be wrong but uh,

essentially that idea of like

Uh

Adam

Has seth so we're not we're discounting kane and abel abel's dead kane is evil

Uh family that we're not counting here. Uh, but seth has enosh plus another family at least

um, so that's uh

Adam then has his son. Um, and

enosh his grandson and

This other person who is enosh's brother

Ancestor or this other couple? Yeah, and then on and on so if you imagine the other

has

This math is hard

I thought we were smart, but we're not we're not uh, it's a lot of math. How about that? Yeah

um

so

It's it's something I just realized enosh

Got to meet noah

Yeah, the man that got to the man that got to walk with god yeah got to meet noah

How long

How long was he alive?

after

I'm, sorry. I'm i'm sorry. He died. This is this is pointed to him dying right before

Oh, no, he didn't get to meet noah. I'm, sorry. Yeah. Yeah, he died before noah years before. Yeah, right

So seth seth and enoch died

Before noah was born when seth came along. That's when people started calling the name of the lord. Oh

Oh, no, not necessarily. Um, that's what that's what it says. Seth was born

And then that's when people started calling the name of the lord

I got another seed for me instead of abel who mccain killed and asked for seth to him

Also, a son was born and he named him enosh then then began to call on the name of the lord

Then then began to call on the name of lord. No, not when seth is born when seth has enosh. Oh

Okay

I just think that's interesting that enoch dies before noah comes along

That's why it's a certain call. Yeah

What he didn't die oh my gosh i'm going to hurt you good

Um

I don't know. Are there any other things we get?

Oh, I don't think we're missing anything. Um, there's a note here, uh from this bible i'm reading

Uh, let me read it and see if there's anything worthwhile. I'll take a picture of this. Hey, uh, steven. Do you want to figure out?

Uh approximately how many

How many grandchildren adam would have had before he died before noah comes along using ai while i'm doing this and sure michael's doing that

Thanks, man. What? Okay. I'll just read this instead of just leaving better. It's titled ages of the patriarchs

by dr. David

minton and dr. Georgia perdomes

For 1500 years after creation men lived such long lives that most were either contemporaries of the first man adam

or personally knew someone who was 10 patriarchs excluding enoch who preceded the great flood lived an average of

912 years they make died the youngest at the age of 770

777 there we go and the fusilla lived to be the oldest at 969 years old

During the 1000 years following the flood

However, the bible records a progressive decline in the lifespan of the patriarchs from noah who lived to be 950

Years old until abram. Sorry abraham at 175 years old

In fact, moses was unusually old for this time for his time

And which was 120 years

Because when he reflected on the brevity of his life

He said the days of our lives are 70 years and if by reason of strength, they are 80 years

Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow for it is soon cut off and we fly away. That's psalms

90 verse 10 did not know he

Actually, I didn't know that hero psalms

um

Yeah, that's that's

The lifespan is that the patrons refer to noah who had to be 150 years to tell me

that's interesting, but I don't know if we

I think we've covered all of that. Yeah

I feel like there's hidden gems in here that we're just not seeing that yeah need time to digest this trying to think of

What else it should be

Songs

Dang a thousand fifty six years after creation. We have no

Oh, I didn't put where um

Hamsham and chef

Yeah, it's 500 years after

What else should be all right finally framed up your whiteboard for you

Ha ha at the very end. Yeah, well just so people can see the whole thing, right?

Okay

And 100 years before the flood

Is when they were born that's when

That's when noah was told that the flood would happen was like 120 years before so he's like 480

God's like yo, i'll all have been

Wicked as hell

And i'm gonna destroy the entire earth

um

And then he he's like, hey wife we need to make some laborers

Build this boat to save our butts

Oh, man

Does it say flood?

Oh, yeah

uh, then the lord said my spirit shall not bind man forever for his

Flesh. Oh, no, that's just how long he didn't live say when they were born. It was 500 years after

Or it doesn't say when when noah was told yeah, yes it does, uh, I would argue it does

Get there real quick

Thanks

Here we are

chapter 6 verse 3 through 4, I think

And the lord said my spirit shall not strive with man forever for

He is indeed flesh yet his days shall be 120 years

their uh

period

There were giants on the earth in those days blah blah blah blah

So I was wrong. It's just first three and the lord said my spirit shall not strive with man forever for he is indeed flesh

Yet his days shall be 120 years

Here's the context the first one

Now it came to pass when the men began to multiply on the face of the earth and the daughters were born to them

That the sons of god, uh

This is talking about the nephilim, huh? Yeah. No, it's not. No, it's not

They said their daughters were born to them and that the sons of god saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful

And they took wives for themselves

Then the lord said

Of all whom they chose and then the lord said yeah, um, and then also verse 5

That might be talking yeah, I think that is talking about the nephilim my version here isn't bleeding on about it though. Um,

Verse 5 then the lord said that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every intent

Of the thoughts of his hearts were only evil continually

The lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth and he grieved

And he grieved in his hearts

So the lord said I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth both man and beasts creeping

Bang and birds of the air for I am sorry that I had made them that I have made them

But noah found grace in the eyes of the lord

This is the genealogy of noah noah was just a man perfect in his generation

uh generations

Uh, that's interesting. That's perfect in his generation. So not necessarily perfect perfect, right?

um, noah walked with god and noah begot three sons shem ham and japheth the earth was

The earth is gonna read the whole chapter. I'm gonna read it. Yeah, it's a lot of context the whole chapter

No, not the whole chapter. Um, the earth was also

erupt before

Uh, the earth also was corrupt before god and the earth was filled with violence

So god looked upon the earth and indeed it was corrupt for all flesh had corrupted their

Their way on the earth. God said to noah. I'm almost done

God said to noah

The end of all flesh has come before me for the earth is filled with violence through them and behold. I will destroy them

With the earth make yourself an arc blah blah blah blah the instructions on how to make it. Um

So I read all of that because uh

It's necessary context of verse three

In the words of my spirit shall not strive with man forever for he is indeed flesh yet. His days shall be 120 years

because most people read and like that last part, uh, yet his days shall be

120 years and they think

That that means god was like man will only live 120 years

And yes, that is what he was saying literally but in the context of the flood

is

It means this is the way that i've heard interpreted and this is my opinion as well. Um,

that

God was saying all of mankind except for noah and his family have 120 years left to live

Before I flood and destroy the entire earth

That's a huge fact, no, it's not if if this

Then is there in verse three

Then that's a huge stretch

I missed what you were trying to say in verse three. It says then

The lord said and the lord said I I read and the lord said

Okay. So what's the actual word?

You want to look that up right now? Yeah. Well, this is a conversation for way later

Reason I bring this up

Um

If I can remember shut up

Yeah

You bring it up and then I forget

Because it takes a conversation for another time. Why don't you bring it up?

well, there was I was using it as a point because I knew that

Yeah, you just

You both might disagree. You just you just read

Almost the entirety of genesis of genesis 6. Yes, we're going to

You don't just read an entire thing and say yeah, we're just gonna leave that alone until we get there

I was making psalms. What's the action? Yeah, it does. What do you mean? You don't make any sense. Um

All right, so noah is 500 years old, uh, that's where I got this so on the board you wrote down

Something like 500. Yeah 500 years before he has ham shiv and jay fifths

uh

And god tells him if this is true 120 years before

Uh before the flood god is saying to himself

Um, I can't stand this

I'm gonna i'm i'm

promising

To myself that man will not

Live beyond 120 years

um

Because i'm going to flood the entire earth and destroy it. Um, then that means noah

was

That's correct 480 years old

That was it. That was my entire point because the flood comes at 600 like noah's 600 years old

If this verse is interpreted that way 120 years to the flood

then that means about

120 years before he's 600 which is 480 years old god comes to noah and says hey i'm going to destroy the entire earth

uh

get

your family and everybody

uh

Beyond yeah, okay, so get them together. It'll build the ark so

Shows here and said

they chose

shall strive

not yaweh

forever

with man my spirit

flesh

he is

for indeed

100 is days

And yet shall be years and 20

on the earth

were

on the earth

That doesn't really tell me much

so

The word here

for

Whatever it says at the very beginning of verse three is said yeah, and the lord said right

Um, and then he says shows here

and said that they chose

Shall strive not yaweh

Forever oh, this is supposed to go there. That's right. Um

Shall not strive with yaweh forever

um

years

Because they are flesh my spirit shall not thrive because they are flesh

For indeed their years will be

the word here, uh on the earth for

Um, that's exactly what this verse says there so you're reading the original language, yes, okay

um

but there's

in the context

Of everything that was said before they chose

And everything that's said after

It's talking about them. It's talking about the nephew kids. Uh, okay nephilim I can get that shall not strive with yaweh

so nephilim are going on whether that's

Demons, um perforating with humans

or

It's just really really evil people. We can cover that. Um, the man that is referenced here though

Is human kind?

Okay

or mankind

Uh, because it says man or mankind human

Well, it even says that we just talked about

right

so

His spirit shall not strive

With man, so mankind forever

Um because he is flesh

so

Even still

if if

Because to get to where what you're talking about in order to say that there was 120 years

Because there's there's no through line here

It goes it goes

Chapter 5

Ends with noah 500 years. He has children and then

It says when man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, right?

And then

It continues

in verse 9 to talk about

verse 9

In verse 9 of chapter 6. Yep

This is the gene genealogy talks about no. Yeah

So this is sort of like what I see as a side tangent it's like oh by the way

Well these genealogy like all these people are living. Um,

god is

Thinking to himself this god is saying to himself this

uh

As he's watching

This particular portion of history that's occurring during this one thousand six hundred fifty six years

Uh, which is the nephilim it says when man or these ridiculously evil people

Um, right and he

And then says to himself

What have I done? I'm gonna destroy all of it

and then

cutscene noah

And his family

And that ties in perfectly with what we saw in the genealogy

Uh, and noah was 500 years old and noah had jim m and j fifth

Noah was just a man

Perfect in his generations noah walked with god and noah begot three sons jim ham and j fifth

The earth was also correct and it goes on

So you could literally just go from verse 32

skip

Uh that verse in chapter 6

Where verse 32 is basically repeated

and continue

and so

That being said what do you think of that like this is a like noah's

Like it's obviously verse 5 chapter 5 is zooming into noah and his family for some reason

um

And then we see

a cut to a different

scene

Where god is watching the earth? Yeah, and

Evil is happening

And he's talking to himself

And then cut back to noah

So is this am I taking this statement out of context?

Yeah, or is the bible saying like purposely putting this extra scene

um

That happens outside of time outside of history because that's just who god is. Um

Like this is because it should be there. Well, the the major the major issue

is that

After the flood

Peace

Creates a major issue for your

Argument because after the flood immediately after the flood every line

does not live

Beyond 120 beyond 101. That's not true

other than

specific people right that we

So what you're saying is um

God here is saying he's making a promise. Can we agree on that?

So if we don't agree on that, that's fine

He's making a promise

Man's not going to live 120 more years mankind mankind will not live beyond 120 years, right?

So if mankind isn't going to live 120, that means as a whole and like as a whole people

We're not gonna live 120 years or like more than that, right?

Does not live

Wouldn't that mean that no one would ever live past 120 years?

This does not seem like a generality to me. This seems like a promise and very specific one

Like in the original, uh text you read 100 years

Plus a plus 20

And when that happens to me, it seems like it's being very specific

um

I could be wrong about that part, but

I would think that no one would live past 120 and we see people living past 120. It's not common

but shouldn't that be because

Of the flood not because of what got said

Because of the choke point, I mean

It's a it's noah's family and then now there's a bunch of quote-unquote incest between noah's family

and that

Chokes the gene line. Um

Which we all know is a bad thing and that's why it's illegal and that's why it's weird and that's why it's

like even talking about this is strange, um, because it's dangerous it causes

I would think that

Messed up people

right

causes human suffering

and so

We go from thousands and thousands of people maybe millions of people probably millions of people

uh to

Somewhere around 10. I don't know

It's and then also the firmament's gone, um people think that that's like the

Uh, the sky was covered with like a cloud of sorts or maybe the oxygen levels were higher

um in the pre-flood era

Whatever the conditions were they were more perfect

than after being completely rocked

by

Flood waters coming from the deep that apparently have been there all along and the entire sky of waters

crashing down on the entire

So

Couldn't the damage

To the earth the irreparable damage

To the earth the the damage that caused pangea to split into the continents that we know today

people think that that's

have

changed the environment in a way that

It did not allow people to live long

in that new environment

And the reason I also say that is because we see noah live for more than 120 years after the flood

um shem's descendants

a bunch of them live

So two of them

Chapter 10 or chapter 11 chapter 11. Okay. So shem was 100 years when he fathered arch far pashad

Um, and he lived he fathered 500 years and had other sons and daughters. Isn't there anything about him dying? That's right

Um, and 403 years for arborshad 403 years forever

um

430 years

for pelag

rue 209

surig 207 nahor 200

And tara 119

Tara oh, sorry. So two of them. Hey or 119

Another oh, okay. So shem. Oh sarah 200. Am I reading this wrong?

Oh, he lived 207 years after

30 years. Yeah. Okay. So 230 and then tara lit

uh

Three years arborshad the days of tara were 205 years and tara died in haran

430 years so like, uh, rue 209

I mean

Undeniably the amount of time that people lived was cut in half. Yeah, like immediate years after absolutely

uh, it wasn't 120

The day the

these are the days of

These are the days of the years of abraham's life

175 years. Okay, it'd be interesting to time to map that out to like how many years beyond the flood was this? Yeah

Um, yeah, I think we'll definitely do that. Yeah after once we get there

Um, or unless we need to map it out to make a point here, um

So is it more likely that god is saying this is 120 years to the flood

Or is it more likely? Uh, god is saying man will live about 120 years from now

I mean I can see it going both ways

because

Obviously, we know how long we live now. We also know

that when

God says something

She is declaring it

but that doesn't mean that

It is going to happen that instant

right

so

I mean

The best example in the bible is the very beginning

He says you will surely die. They didn't die. They lived another

Adam lived 930 years. That one seemed pretty straight like black and white, right? But but right

Right after the flood suddenly the amount of time that everybody's living is halved

Which is crazy because they're living almost a thousand years each

and and right before this we had

Who only died?

Is because because the flood yeah, so it seems as though he could have lived longer. Yeah

And he was the he was the oldest

Out of all of them he lived the longest so it almost seemed as though they could live longer

I think noah was probably going to live longer, too

Because he lived to 950 years old. Sure. Um, so he was 600

When the flood happened

Where's the

When the jim ham and jay fist died, did you find that?

Uh, I did not find that

I don't know if it says it it does

Had only died because because the flood so it seems as though he could have lived longer. Yeah

And he was he was the oldest. No, that's not talking about yours here. Uh, oh that's talking about the uh, the nations. Yeah

Huh? Yeah. Yeah

The nations that's another one we're gonna have to map out that's that's a fun one

um

I have

Oh 600 years, uh, they lived 600 fam lived 600 years because it says in 11 verse 10

These were generations of family family was 100 years. He fathered

Arpithead two years after the flood and shem lived

After he fathered arpithead 500 years

So he lived 600 years

Yeah, um doesn't say

i'm not seeing

I don't think it matters because the other shem is the eldest. Yeah. Yeah

um

Interesting. So 600 years so that's not necessarily in half but also

He could have lived

Well, but he he lived

100 before

Yeah, and then cut in half

from that

When people are probably shooting for like 1100

years old now

at the point of the flood

um

So maybe half or a little like maybe like 40 percent

Yeah, something like that

Because noah lives 300 more years

Uh starting at 600

So 350 years actually, yeah, where does it say when noah died?

600 years. Oh, okay right before chris

Or chapter 10 after the flood noah lived 350 years. Yeah

950 he died

That's crazy

and

So if you're if you're

Half serious, right? Then noah would have lived. Um, because noah lives 300

I'm, just gonna ground down to 300. It's like 650 more years

Um after 600 so 1250 years

If the flood did not destroy the environment. Oh, okay

Anyways, huge side tangent. This should be for another episode. I mean, we're gonna talk about it again. But yeah, um

But I mean I can I can see it. I can see it going

Either way is 120 years to the flood steven. What do you think because you were against that too, right?

Um

No on the 120 so when I said, uh

God when god was talking to himself and said man won't live past 120 years

and me I said that means

the

God is saying

I'm gonna flood the entire earth and kill everybody in 120 years

you were

If I remember right adamantly against that

I don't know if I was I don't know

Well, you were I was I was hesitating. Yeah, it's just like

maybe

It's a good possibility after we walked through though. No

As you were explaining it

So you're ripping me a new one

While you're thinking, okay

I mean

The struggle is to pull that out

It took a lot in between the word in between the several verses that are

And then and then to prove that it's not what you what most people think it is

Yeah, so it took a lot of effort the word the word

mankind

Is the most convincing for me, but it's also

the biggest roadblock

Because if if it says that their years mankind will not be more than 120

And then immediately after the flood

We see the descent into that

Yeah

the the years

the amount of years after

Moses at that time of like 70 and 80 if you remember

psalms 90 verse 10 he says, uh

Uh

This this article here says that uh, moses was unusually old, uh for his time right 120 years

uh, because and he died because

God killed him, right? Um

Is the most convincing for me, but it's also he says in psalms

The days of our lives are 70 years

Or about 80. Mm-hmm. So both. Yeah

And that's more accurate to our day now, yeah, and that's

We don't know how many years and but but now we get people

every now and again who live 110

I think there's someone

Around or that there has been someone around that's lived. Maybe 230

130. Oh, um steven. Can you look that up? Because oh, did you find the answer to the other thing too?

um

Not necessarily

I don't know if it's the answer but it's it's a answer. He's gonna have an answer at all. So

We should do this first. Um

This is being more generous

Or I guess realistic that's

so

40 children each

Child has six children after that. We're looking around

240 grandchildren 240. Really? I think it's doing the math wrong. He said 40 children. Yeah

Wait, why does he has 40 children? I thought you said four

40 you know i'm said 40

I I'm at four

Yeah. Yeah, let's see here. Let me

Pull up gpt on my phone too so we can have it talk to us

Hey there. Um, so we're talking about adam and eve and uh his family. So seth dinosh

Uh kenan or kanan, uh, hello jared and so on

and we're wondering um if

everybody was mentioned, um and say adam and eve had uh, both seth and uh, another

um

family, uh that also had grandchildren and their grandchildren had grandchildren and

Since adam lived to what was it? Michael 930

930 30 years old and saw seven great

Grandchildren, I think it was. Yeah. Um

Then how many people?

Would that be it's a fun thought experiment?

The bible doesn't give us a full list of everyone adam and eve might have had what we do get are key

Descendants like seh through whom certain genealogies are traced

But if you imagine adam and eve living 930 years and having many children as implied

The potential number of descendants would balloon quickly if each generation had multiple children and those children had their own

This would grow exponentially

Even if each generation only had a handful of children after hundreds of years

You'd be looking at thousands or tens of thousands

We can't pin down an exact figure from the text. But if you imagine family growth over centuries

You'd end up with a vast population

Can you give me like an estimate?

All right

Let's play with some hypothetical math

Imagine each generation had say five kids on average and each generation have been roughly every 30 years

Over 900 years you might have about 30 generations if each generation multiplied by five each time it grows rapidly

The numbers would shoot up into the millions easily now, of course

Not all would survive or have descendants and this is just a simple exponential model

But even with modest assumptions you'd likely imagine tens or even hundreds of thousands of descendants after that many centuries

Yeah, that sounds right honestly, so they walk into a village it's like oh hey i'm related to everyone here

Literally and this is just five generations in that's crazy, dude

And then but then things

There's other

Like Wow, no, they're what

Well, no, okay, so this is this is from Adam

chief

Can you imagine being out of any grandchildren when how Adam died

So they walk into a village. It's like oh like I'm related to everyone here. What was it?

126 years before

Five generation. Oh was born. Yeah crazy. So

And then but then that's more than halfway

to the flood yeah, and

And

He's probably already seeing he's like man, so my grandchildren not doing too hot we're and we're

Yeah

We've got the line of cane too and

Wow

Adam died

they're just traveling from

one village or town or whatever to another

And they're just like, huh, it's a really changed

Yeah

To the flood and

He's probably

We are three hours 21 minutes

Yeah, but we had like a half hour there where we were setting things up over for this for decay

I can you up and everything, right?

So

Wow, yeah

There's a lot here. I think the reason why most people don't get into it is because there's a lot. Yeah

To think it's boring there

Because a lot of today felt a little bit boring

I mean, it's definitely not our usual content. No, it's definitely not usual

It's definitely slower because you have to like really think about it. Yeah, it's the first algebra. It's when God created algebra. Yeah

here's

What I

You're done with the board, this is my final thought am I done with the board? Yeah, you can back up. No

No, I'm done. Okay, you want to switch mics?

Okay, there's a lot pull that mic off, huh?

I think

Nah, it's muted. Oh, you're good. You don't even need a pull it off. Honestly. I just wanted you to do it

Wanted to see if I can control you

Don't like that

Sounded strange it did. It's the first I did not like it at all. I

Take it back. Yeah, I should have said it good. I'm sorry

This one back up. Yep. Yeah

So I just had this thought and the thought is

God knew

The flood was coming. Yeah, if the flood wasn't coming if

the years a few the

Few decades before Noah's death were really ramping up

The

Flood is gonna happen Noah's born

Lamech says what he says

He says out of the ground that the Lord has cursed

This one shall bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands somehow Lamech

Wanted something or understood something. Oh

That was going on. Oh

Do you think?

that

the first

Natural death in this lineage

With Adam. Do you think that this is a mercy?

from certain evils

Yeah

Like the the shortening of lives. Well, I mean or the ending of

Specifically of all these times. Yeah, I would think so

Because I I think about Enoch as well and he only lived

365 years. He is the youngest out of all these people. Mm-hmm short of

Anybody's got killed or stillbirths or or you have people killed or whatever?

And

He is at the tail end, right? He's walking with God. He's at the tail end right before the flood

And God takes him right before the final of like Methuselah

Who I imagine is probably the most evil evils. Yeah, I think it talks about Methuselah later

Yeah as being one of the most evil

Which is weird

Well, it what's interesting too is we think about the Kings. Yeah, it's the line of Kings

Mm-hmm, and it's I imagine that this is probably similar probably and especially as humans

Yeah, especially if we look at the line of Cain being mixed in with this and the influence that they would have

What that's what verse 6 means

with the the men

Multiplying on the face of the earth daughters being born to them

So I'm seeing that those daughters were beautiful and taking wives for themselves

So the mixing of the lines of Seth and Cain it talks about hmm

Because you know how God told Israel don't marry into the cultures around you because they're

They're following these

Demons Oh interesting. You're you're taking not gods a different approach to the idea of sons of God

Yeah, and you're saying that maybe the sons of God are from the line of Seth, but they are seeing the line of Cain

Yeah

Beautiful hmm, which

Might be the reason why that random

girl is

Is is mentioned from the line of Lamech? Oh crap

Nothing's placed randomly that's kind of wild. Yeah, but that and just as to fill in anybody who's listening and not

In chapter 22 and what we're saying

What is it again chapter 4 verse 22 22 you wanna read it?

Zilla also bore to Volcain. He was the forger of all instruments of bronze and iron

The sister of to Volcain was namaz and our sisters ever mentioned before this

Not one and in fact not after

except for maybe later, yeah down the line, but

Extremely rare it does mention daughters. It does mention daughters, which is hey feminism

But

That's interesting and daughters and wives now

Because because especially when it says that people began to call upon the name of the Lord after Enos. Mm-hmm

that does

Grant the idea of the sons of God

I mean

Historically we we think about

Angels or demons

When it when we think of the yeah of sons of God sons of God, yeah

And so sons of God fallen angels

Marrying the

human women trading the Nephilim

Which we're not taking off the table

it does technically say that the Nephilim were on the earth in those days and

we're also in in 6 verse 4

Mine says there were giants on the earth in those days. Yep

That's weird

but it does say the Nephilim were on the earth in those days and

also afterward might even when the sons of God came into the daughters of man and

They bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were yeah, so there it might so let me read mine

This is in KGB

There were giants on the earth in those days and also afterward when the sons of God came into the daughters of men and they bore

Children to them. Those were the mighty men who were all of old men of renown. So I'm wondering if Nephilim is just the

Transliteration, I well I wonder if

Nephilim are more like they're just monsters that are kind of chillin like they're

or whatever kind of like how horses and

Donkeys can

Can mate but it's just a bad. I'm saying like

The Nephilim are there it's saying the Nephilim are here. Yeah, and also

the sons of God so it could still be

the line of Seth are

mating and having children with

so it could be both interpretations those and and because

The Nephilim are in the world who are evil came from as far as we know the Nephilim are evil. Yeah

This the sons of God are mighty men possibly taking on the Nephilim hold on

Explain that mighty man like so you know enough one. These were the mighty men who were of old the men of renown so

The idea I'm thinking is that Nephilim big monster. Those are the Giants on earth in those days

Yes, and and think of think of like going on major on a huge quest. I'm a man of renown

Oh, I see what you're doing. Okay. Okay, a son of God and I'm fighting the demons. Yeah

Yeah, right. Okay. I'm seeing it. So verse 4 there were Giants on the earth in those days

Yeah marker and also afterward another marker before and after what Daniel the sons of God when the sons of God

Who's I don't know they're just called sons of God came into the daughters of men and

They bore children to them. So if they're sons of God and they're

Marrying the daughters of men, why are these

like they probably

Don't I mean, I feel like they have to be other

Other dudes like humankind. Yeah. So why are they distinguished? Yeah, probably because line of Cain line of Seth

Like what you're saying

and then those

those ones

who

were born of the line of Seth and Cain were called the mighty men the men of old and

the men of renown

If we also think about

Killing okay Cain is murder wait

Could the Giants be talking about people or animals

It would be people are you sure well, there were Giants on earth in those days if your version also a science

Yeah, what did you say? This is Nephilim. Okay, so it could be Nephilim or it says or Giants

Okay in the subtext. Okay, so

If it's Giants and we all assume like giant people. Mm-hmm, which time people did exist

Goliath, yeah, but

Maybe giant people existed before the flood just kind of like animals were huge. Sure before the flood. Yeah

We'll have to come up with some examples for the flood docks because there's some weird ones like bugs being massive

I mean just look at the the fossil record quote-unquote like

Think of those massive animals all over the place

so

Seven instead of human Giants seven animal Giants. Mm-hmm, and it talks about son of son of God

Sons of God rather line of Seth daughters of men line of Cain's

intermarrying and

having kids and those kids were mighty men who were of old men of renown and to your idea of

Going and slaying the monsters slaying the beasts slaying the Giants is still still works

Yeah, and so what's what the word could be all of them. Let's figure it out. Hold on

The word here for sons of God is Elohim

These are the options it gives and God's in the ordinary sense

To that's one two, but specifically used of the supreme God three occasionally applied by way of

deference to magistrates

for and sometimes as

superlative superlative

Superlative whatever. What's the super? What's that again?

It's like a mister missus. I think so Stephen, you know

Superlative strong

Exhaustive concordance

angels

comma exceeding comma God comma very great comma mighty

Plural of Elwha God's in the ordinary sense

Specifically used. Yeah of the supreme God

Supreme God being y'all

so sons of God if

So children of Yahweh

No, no, it doesn't say

It says Elohim. Yeah, which is usually used for Yahweh

It's what that that's what I heard you say, but now Yahweh specifically I'm saying Yahweh on purpose

Because that's what all caps Lord would be right? Yeah, and in this ver the my versions

the LSB

Hold on I don't take the LSB. Okay, I'm interested to see what this is

Just for the audience who has no idea what you're doing, what are you doing? I I was looking at the interlin linear

And trying to look at what's what's interlinear?

Interlinear is the original language, which we did say earlier

Oh, we were saying we were looking at the original language, but I

Didn't know where you get that from person. I also

The strong's concordance

what is that because

It's

Also

You

Barely know what that is

it's just

the database in which

Okay, it says God

interesting that

From my understanding is the database in which?

the old

Language is kept in sort of defined. Yeah, okay

So you just looked up the LSB

Yes, as God and it says God it does not say Yahweh. So

Okay, LSB says Yahweh if it says yeah, it says Yahweh and and it the word is Yahweh

Yeah, so

The usage of ha Elohim, that's the word here

It's confusing

Yeah, I think we need to dig into this later but this is a huge

Story. Yeah, there's so much here that we could dig into

So many different way more angles than I ever thought there could be for this particular passage. Yeah

And to think all of this came from me making a stupid joke about Noah

Getting it on with his wife so they has more laborers to make the the boat before the flood

Yeah, that's crazy, um, but yeah, so

The

The the point that I was actually trying to get to cool before we ended

What has to do with the fact that?

There is going to be great destruction

Everyone that we laid out except for most boozle. Ah

Died before the flood

right and

That's interesting because Lamech

the father

of Noah also died

Before the flood the flood. Yeah, not during the flood and you're saying that could be a mercy and I'm saying

I'm definitely saying that to mercy because he lived the least amount of time

That's true. And he lived

777 years which is the whackers. Yeah

so

What I thought you were saying is is it a mercy that God ended all life on earth except for Noah's family and I was

thinking maybe because but I was also thinking when you were talking about that was

Adam lived how many years and he had how much time?

To get a leg up on

millions of people

Potentially sure. What about Kings and his family line? Yeah, and those people that like we're cursed

Anyways, let's just make the most of it. Yeah

Wouldn't they be going around enslaving people causing war causing havoc heartache

Killing people unnecessarily just all over the place just blood spilt. Yeah

torture for no reason

And so when I read

From that mindset what Lamex said about Noah where he says this one

Will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands because of the ground which the Lord has cursed

Put in a new light

So maybe that's like God save us

Yeah, and I know that you will save us through my son here and that's beckoning to Jesus

obviously

But Lamex somehow knew there was something special about Noah

We don't know exactly what he knew but he knew something

Otherwise, he wouldn't have said this and would he have said this and the way he said it

unless he

Was not comfortable

Well, and and the thing is too is that it's in the Bible for a reason yeah

So

First off it's crazy that Moses would know this it's not crazy

But but it's crazy if Noah, sorry if Moses. Oh boy

if Moses

did not

hear directly from God like if if Moses was

Just a man on the evolutionary timeline. Mm-hmm and God did not exist. This would be absolutely bonkers

yeah, I

Think what we can take from this

In

Grand scheme of things. Mm-hmm. Is that

Due to the evil that we are capable of yeah, it is a mercy that we die early

well

In God's time, but on time. Yeah

But a shorter time, yeah, which is a mercy to us because like we talked about the

The garden was cut off. Mm-hmm

Access. Mm-hmm. Nobody can go there because of the one trees. Oh, I've never thought about of life, right?

Yeah, he says he's like, you know, we're going to cast them out of the garden and

Put up the defense. Yeah so that they will not also eat of the tree of life, right?

And we see why because they have forced too long. Yeah, and but if

Imagine if the tree of life is each isn't well is immortal life will say yeah

If it is forever after yeah, if it is if you become immortal who is not going to eat it

Everybody would every especially the cursed one. Yeah, especially and and so

Because they know what's for them after

They die is nothing good. Yeah, they're not they're not tied with God at all

Yeah, and so why would God do anything for them?

Yes, and so, of course, they're gonna want to live as long as possible

Use as many people as possible

To lift themselves up in any way they possibly can

Yeah, I think where you're going is

Adam

For the brunt of the curse he brought upon mankind

No, but sure. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, so that's word

You pointing that out made me think of that like we only have to live a hundred and something years. Yes, max. Yeah

he

had to nearly live a thousand years and

see

Seven generations of how much he screwed up. Yeah

And in and I easy I get so tired of living and I'm only 28

And Lord take me now, but it's he lived

930 years. Yeah

Because like from an emotional standpoint. Mm-hmm

I mean like you're saying like most of us are a lot a lot of people don't even want to live

Past 40. Mm-hmm, and they want to just off it off themselves. But who are the people that want to live longer?

The people that want to make a difference

maybe

Yeah, like Paul to live is for Christ. Yeah to die is gain. So we had a good balance. But what I'm getting at is

Those who want to live longer are usually the ones that don't have

Anything to look forward to after death

And whether they believe they're going to hell or they believe there's nothing after mm-hmm still there's nothing to look forward to

well, there is a sense of

from Adam

came to

Slides line of evil in the line of good in the line of God, hopefully

Not hopefully definitely the line of the sons of God. Sure

and

Adam knowing what it is like to be in the presence of God fully completely perfect

He both knows how awful it is

that

They have fallen from grace

but he

also knows how great it is to be by God's side and so there is a sense of

Perhaps he wanted to live as long as he did so that he could point his descendants towards

God, right?

Adam yeah. Yeah, maybe

Point and I mean because we see

Enoch he lives the least amount of time

You know, well in mercy, yeah, and and we see at the beginning of

chapter 5 that

Adam

Fathered

Seth

In his own likeness after his image and again, obviously we're in her what that's a lot

Oh

Plus the idea that Eve says I've

gotten another son

Because both Abel and Cain are dead. Yeah, I don't think it says Cain is dead

But says that he killed Abel, but yeah, and they're considering him as the new first son

Yeah is the idea? Yeah in the genealogy that

Keep going

Um

There's something there I forget that this this gives me the idea because if if after

Adam fathers what it seems like Seth like differently after this from Cain and Abel. That's what it was. Yeah

then Seth

fathering Enos

When people began to call upon the name of the Lord, which I imagine Adam

Tried to have a hand in you know

Guiding people towards calling on the name of the Lord

Yeah, I just I just see I hope that this is a man that

Desires to make God known and

Ensure that there is more

More of that than the evil that he caused

And I imagine that it's incredibly humbling yeah

To know how badly you messed up see it playing out in real time 930 years. Yeah

Because and what's crazy too if you think about it, he was a man

When he was born when he was created he was a man

Yeah, so

True he was passed 20 years off of everybody else. So like 950

2030 to grow up through 20s for your brain to mature. We're assuming Oh process has stayed the same. So, yeah

so he's like I

Don't know I don't know where I was going with that, but that's he's he's had more time. Yeah as an adult

There's a lot to digest here do with that. But yeah, so the to the two things God

Killing off this line specifically

Having their time come before the flood

as a bunch of them, I mean

yeah, it's a mercy and I

mean, there's a huge jump three hundred and

66 years

361 years before Jared

And then another five hundred in 95 years

After that Lamech, so what I mean we have so many years

Killing off this that

That happened before the flood and in those years clearly there is a lot of evil a lot of

destruction

Sorry, how many years I

Missed that part. How many years and how many I say 595? No, I just didn't listen. I didn't hear

there's 234 years, sorry between

Creation and enosh

between

Mahou shale who's

Mahalal, yeah and

Jared

Okay

So there's just this

continued growth of time

That people are dying before the flood

Oh

There's there's a greater people start dying. Yeah, and there's so there's a greater number

before the flood between

some of the people and

You know that and I think that's why we see

Enoch dying so early

Lamech dying

So early, obviously Lamech had to be

Around to have Enoch at the time that he did

You're gonna die when you need to die

It's all that to say you were going to die when you need to die and and it's just because God has

Created or allowed death I guess

Does not mean that he's using it or wielding it

Mercilessly, yeah, he's not using it to crush his enemies. He does not

How does it say it he does not he's not pleased by the death of his enemies, yeah

In fact, it's sorrowful. Yeah and fools

Enjoy crushing their enemies. God's no fool. Yeah, you're gonna die. So even in death

God is merciful. No, and then a painful death maybe that's there because of

mercy to others

Being

vengeance being justice

For other people right maybe that's where it gets watered down and grace. Yeah, right

Like what is good and what is bad?

We have no right to understand it. Yeah, God does we have no way to see it unless God tells us

Anything else before I go off on a huge tangent, which I'll keep shorts because I took notes. Sure. Nothing else. Yeah

So you help me get here. So thank you

My goodness, I've got a the last person that so that's me

Started believing in Hitler. So just be careful

Thanks for watching everybody I mean worshipping other really practically that's nuts might as well be in just

Wow, okay, so

Where should I start

Adam in the beginning you gotta created the house in the beginning God

Created Adam. Yes in his image. Yes, Adam, and you've created Seth in his image. Yeah

Why does it say that and then why does this say the sons of God?

Which we think might be the line of Seth

Came in to the daughters of man and had the men of renown who conquered Giants and

I think that's more evidence that that pattern of like

image of God so God

Images himself Adam Adam images himself Seth

So this is a plus B plus C

So this is a plus B plus C

Was it no a equals B B equals C C equals D ding be

D being

The line of Seth, yeah, right

so

The sons of God

And

Would line up with being a line

That was made in the image of God who's made in the image of God

Seth because he was made in the image of Adam who was made in the image of God

Set connect

Yeah, so just more evidence towards

Chapter six talking about sons of God being just the line of Seth. Okay

another thing that I notice is

Cain is not the son of God anymore. He's cursed

And Adam doesn't Adam and Eve don't see him as a son in their image anymore. Sure

Which is why they're not

Distinguished as sons of God. They're distinguished as daughters of man. Mm-hmm

Or or just descendants of Cain, yeah, right

Why did in chapter 4 verse?

25 26 26. Why did they start calling on the name of the Lord?

I

Think it's talking about verse certainly not verse chapter 6 where the sons of God

Started having children with the daughters of man

Which was not good

And at the same time God saw that as not good and the reason to end the earth

Mixing the cursed line with the line of God was no bueno

So beyond the sins that everybody was committing anyways, because the sons of God, of course, they're gonna son

They're not perfect we see that with what it talks about Noah like it says perfect among his

Line I think it was basically among his ancestors. He was perfect

Which means I think the line of Seth is

The perfect line not because of anything they're doing but because God has decided this is the line that I'm gonna follow through to my son

Yeah, right

This

Does that make sense? So verse 26 and as for Seth to him also was

To

Also to him also a son was born and he named him Enos

Then men began to call on the name of the Lord. Mm-hmm

Why is that back-to-back and then we see Enos?

being the one

Where's the Enos born, what is this?

135 235 years in right and then we see

I guess this wouldn't line up timeline wise. Hold on. So Noah was

600 when the flood happened

So there could be a giant period of time where the sons of God are

Intermarrying with these the daughters of man

And

That's when these sons of God start calling on the name of God on the name of the Lord

Because they notice that's wrong. So make any sense at all. Yeah, okay

Anyways, that's astounding to me because I've never thought about it that way sure and I think all of this is tying together in a way

that

Again to me I've described this before it feels like national treasure

Yeah, where all the clues are coming together and it starts to make sense

Yeah, that's wild I

Crazy, I'm gonna have to keep on like bringing these

Ideas together because I feel like I'm on the way. Mm-hmm. This is fine blowing to me. I mean it

It's crazy to think about the sons of God differently from how we've grown up

But so another thing that I want to bring up

And let's end on this yes, yeah, I thought that would be more mind-blowing than it was but I mean

It just it just helps with with this idea

We're not

We know what other people have said we have a good idea. You know, what is tradition traditionally interpretation?

Yeah, like traditionally interpreted. Yes. Okay, we we understand that

widely because

Grew up in the church and we've heard a lot of the same things for a long time. Yeah

But

Reading when you read the Bible

It doesn't matter what man has said. It doesn't matter what we've said right now does not

what God has said is more important and

You know granted we're talking about technicalities here and we're talking about things that that in the grand scheme of things

We can't prove and maybe doesn't matter. Yeah

But but when we get and we've even done this when we get to the deeper topics, you know, this is

We are wrestling we're doing a lot of

Unearthing and and trying to make sense, but also

Anything that doesn't make sense really? No

Yeah, whatever. Yeah, maybe not probably not but yeah, whatever. This is what it says and there's only so much we can do with that

And that's important because we have to

We want to be honest with our own thoughts when we're reading the Bible

But we also want to be honest with what the text actually says

And so when you know doing all this and we've gone on a bunch of tangents now

Even still

we

We're we're searching through scripture. We're trying to remember what what we know and we're doing it very wrong

We're not doing any research. Really? I've done a little bit of research

We're you know, but like but is it wrong what the way that we're doing it? No, I'm not saying it

I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm saying he said very wrong or did I mishear? Ah, he's right. Ah, ah

gotcha and

But we're looking to scripture and we're looking at it as the ultimate

Is the authority on truth?

and

That's that's where we need to come back to every time

Yeah, and and and and and that faith that this is the words of God yeah and and seek

And dig deeper and deeper and deeper all the time, you know, and and we're looking at we're looking at genealogy

It's not the craziest

Awesome mind-blowing thing like clearly we just finished, you know through chapter 4 and

That was crazy. That was a wild trip. Yeah

But except for the end there it was kind of sure my opinion but but you know, we're here and

There is still opportunity to do things on our own. I mean to really to really do it on our own and stop

Relying on other people to do it for us. Yeah. Yeah

And isn't that called growing up?

Yeah, it's called yeah a lot of things so, you know, that's our encouragement

To our listeners to everybody grow up

And just

God seek his truth

In his truth in his word what he said in what he actually says

Rather than what other people say that it says yeah, um, don't don't take

uh what anybody says

um as

Scripture. Yeah, as they say, yeah, don't don't believe anybody believe god. Yeah

I'll see the who is the church that paul kept on mentioning that was great at like testing this the the words Koreans

The Koreans so Koreans would bring their bibles to bible study and make sure that the pastor wasn't being a radical

Yeah, and they would assume he was being radical

But they weren't like to get them or anything right I assume but

That's the idea is uh

Consume it

Yeah, um know it yourself intimately. Uh know it so well

that

When someone asks you hey, hey michael, how many years uh, did did canin live before he had a kid?

Yeah, you have a faint idea. Sure

Over under 100 under right? You don't need to be like you don't even need to know that but just like yeah, this is

Scripture this is god talking. Yeah, this is god

Allowing a permanent record of what he has said, uh to be in front of you

And if you take it as that

Which I know

For some is hard

But if you you believe with faith as small as a mustard seed, right?

And you build off of that and read what he has said

What I what we've found in the past

few episodes is

He will prove himself over and over and over and over. Yeah

In the biggest ways and in the smallest ways in the details and in the overarching picture. This is god, which is

Crazy to witness firsthand. Yeah, not through your pastor. I'm really excited to get to joseph

Um last part being key by yourself with like you consuming you doing it raw as you said not

Sitting in church on sunday. Yeah

Although you can't do it that way. Just bring your bible and make sure that what the pastor is saying is

True. Yeah. Yeah what we found this is episode 15. Yes. Um

We could just call this episode genealogy

Yes, um, you know, it's good because

A lot of it was genealogy

Um, what if we call it, uh, we drew the lawn drew the lawn drawing the line

Because we did draw it out. Oh, okay

Genealogy drawing the line. Mm. I like it. Um, we hope that this was

Not interesting interesting interesting. Uh, I mean, you know again, it's not

Our usual content. No, I I hope that it was edifying. I hope that yeah, you know, it wasn't

This is episode 15

Scene is boring. Yeah, um primarily because the word of god is not boring. No, and this is we are well we can be yeah

This is endlessly fascinating because these are entire lives. This is

1656 years

of

history

Of evil entering the world and growing exponentially. Yeah, and in god

Choosing to to reduce that and then reduce the number of years that evil is living really

And

You know, it's it is important. I mean it's part of this is a history book

The word of god is is a history, but we see a lot of history happening here

um

So read your words, uh get better at reading your words

Uh, I talked to my shepherding elder yesterday and he's like, you know, we read our word

for nourishment

Because it is nourishing

And you know because it's all pointing towards god. It's all pointing towards his truth and

and

the the accuracy and and

And infallibility of it so

Read your work

And and join us as we I mean it's part of seek

God through the scriptures

Uh, if you have any comments questions concerns constructive criticisms

Um, if you think that you can do a better version of this episode do it

Make it more interesting

uh

and

You know

ultimately

We hope to do this together

Not just us three, but I mean we want to bring other people on the podcast. We want to have people in the audience

um, and we want to

Accuracy do what god wants us to do what god wants us to do and and be the church

um

so

Yeah, join us this concludes our episode. Um, i'll pray sounds cool I think and uh,

That's yeah, we'll be done

Lord you you think that you can do a better episode you planned all this

Uh, it is in your will

that

and

All this would happen that from the line of seth to get noah, not just us three who

be our means of staying on the earth, of continuing on the earth, rather than the flood being

the ultimate destruction of man. And you've given us the opportunity to seek your word

and enjoy it in multiple different ways. We don't just have to read it and memorize it,

but we can read it and search through all the different words, all the different languages,

find all the different numbers and compare and find all the different names and their

meanings and we get to think and ponder about what has happened in several thousands of

years that you don't speak a lot on. And you've given us creative minds, you've given us intelligent

minds to be able to look at your word and see more than just words on a page, but see life

that you have given to us. Lord, I pray that we walk away being thankful for our lives,

but also thankful that at some point you will take us home, you will bring us home on your

terms, and that we can delight in that, that we can delight in the life that you've given to us,

to serve you for your purposes, to have children for your purposes. And Lord, I pray we do not

take that for granted, as it is easy to do so, that we are alive because we just are. It's so

easy to forget that we are alive for your glory and for our good. So Lord, please keep that in

the forefront of our minds, that our minds be on things above rather than below, on the life in

which you have granted us, and the life that we are to proclaim to the world through the gospel,

so that when we die, it is not spiritual death, but life eternal with you. And I pray this all

in your name. Amen.

Cool. Thanks, man.

Boom.

That was a crazy prayer, crazy episode.

It's a lot.

Yeah, man. I'm excited for these next episodes, dude.
